For those of you that have been asking, my daughter is still in the hospital- I know - it's been a long rollercoaster ride. In her room I get 2 cable news channels - CNN & Fox. Well you know which one I watch:think: But tonite when Larry King came on he had on Katie Couric. I couldn't do it, so I flipped it over to Fox, just to hear what they had to say. It was Hannity & Colmes. Harold Ford was a guest, and of course Hannity was drooling because Ford cancelled having Kerry come to campaign for him. Paraphrasing here - Hannity went right in on the attack. Ford answered "Kerry mispoke. He apologized. It's over. Now lets talk about the real issues, about how bad things are in Iraq." Hannity kept going after Kerry. Ford said that he was a Christian man and he accepts Kerry's apology, and they should too. Hannity kept going. Ford said that he forgave Cheney when he apologized for shooting his friend (good one!) He forgave Limbaugh when he apologized for his comments about Michael J Fox. And now it's time for them to forgive Kerry and move on. On and on, Ford didn't flinch. He was above Hannity's crap. Finally Hannity gave up... and they talked about the real issues. At least until the next victim came on. Then it was Kerry all over again.
I was impressed. Harold Ford may have won some votes tonite. He was extremely professional & made Hannity look like the snotty-nosed little kid that he is. I'm actually glad I tuned in.

I didn't care for Ford's earlier assessment of the situation, but he's redeemed himself.
Thanks so much for checking in with this info, during what is obviously a hard time for you.

Even though my mind was made up a LONG time ago, that race baiting ad was way over the top. I am glad he stood up to Insanity though.
Best wishes to you and your daughter.:hi:

I just thought he was being a bit of a jerk earlier. But that's water under the bridge.

like Ford did.
The dems need to adopt the Reagan philosophy when he said "You shall not talk bad about another republican."
It's time for the dems to stand in unity and stop talking bad about other dems.

Good for him for sticking it to the Pubbies, although I still think it would have been better to handle it differently and Limbaugh didn't actually apologize to Michael J. Fox. But Harold is looking very senatorial and that's important for these last minute voters. They just want to get on the winning bandwagon.

and that's how it should have been handled by ALL Democrats from day one.
OT, but did Cheney ever actually apologize for shooting his friend in the face? For some reason I seem to remember his friend getting blamed for the incident.

Harold Ford is a perfect example of why it's not just about being conservative. It's just as important to woo the progressive Democratic base even in a red state: http://www.taylormarsh.com/archives_view.php?id=24782I'm not writing him off, but it's a tough race!
