A question to people from VA concerning Clinton and the rallye with Webb |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 02:24 PM by Mass
I have read several reports now (from people who do not like Clinton) explaining that the rallye Clinton made for Webb did not help Webb because it was largely about Clinton and very little about Webb.
I was wondering what you think about that (given that the people who wrote that are largely Clinton haters, but that I remember the same thing happened for the Philadelphia rallye with Kerry, where the buzz was largely about Clinton and just how great he was). Any idea.
I am not trying to bash Clinton, just to get an honest assessment of the fact that Clinton is helpful or a distraction when he campaigns for somebody (and the same thing could be said for Bush, for example).

I just can't be mad at Clinton when he gives such a funny speech. He was just GREAT here. He talked about Webb, but did concentrate a lot on criticism of the GOP. He certainly didn't dwell on his own administration the way he did at that Kerry rally.
I recommend you check it out, but he's really wonderful. I thought I sensed the invisible spirit of Kerry there -- he's the one who saw something in Webb and funded his entire GOTV effort in the primaries. He may have not been physically there, but I actually have the feeling Webb likes Kerry more than Clinton.
