OMG!! I really am beginning to (dare I say it) LOVE Jim Webb
MY Senator-elect:

"Bush, Webb in testy exchange over Senator-elect's soldier son

President Bush and U.S. Senator-elect Jim Webb got into a testy exchange over the status of Webb's soldier son, who is serving in Iraq, The Hill is reporting.

At a White House private dinner just after the election featuring "newly elected lawmakers," Emily Heil writes that Bush asked Webb "how his son, a Marine lance corporal serving in Iraq, was doing." Webb replied to the President that he "really wanted to see his son brought back home," according to a person who was present at the dinner.

"I didn't ask you that, I asked how he's doing," Bush replied, according to The Hill's source.

"Webb confessed that he was so angered by this that he was tempted to slug the commander-in-chief, reported the source, but of course didn't," writes Heil. "It's safe to say, however, that Bush and Webb won't be taking any overseas trips together anytime soon.""

1. Let's here it for the boy!
I will have to say though that now I'm a little worried about the safety of Webb's son. I think the evil that is Bushco. knows no limits. (Sorry for that chilling thought. I'm not in my happy place right now.)

2. No -- it would be very bad publicity for Bush. Banish the thought.
May I also add that Bush is an asshole. I mean "asshole" in a very technical way. He simply is an asshole. I identify with Webb a little, having similar colored hair, and sometimes a temper also. Good thing Webb controlled his!!

4. Markos weighs in, and says something interesting:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/11/28/205621/02

Despite the title of this post, it's good Webb didn't slug Bush. Democrats will get back at him by making 2007 and 2008 the most miserable two years of his life.

Is Markos making fun of the weak kneed Dems who villify anyone who fights back. Kinda like Kerry? Maybe I'm imagining that.

Anyway, there are pictures of Jimmy in the thread so it's worth taking a look.

6. I actually rarely watch TV news. I prefer print and the internet.
Somebody will have to let me know if they run with this story.

9. Another attack by George Will
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/11/30/75122/658

BTW, I'm posting this in this forum, because Webb is an ally to Kerry in the Senate on Iraq. The Establishment also hates his economic fairness ideas. So they're going to try to destroy him.

And lest we forget -- his frickin' SON is in Iraq! And three Marines on the next truck over were killed this past week, so this is serious. The fact that they're attacking him is just nuts and upside down. The person who should be attacked is the president.
