http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/12/3/16437/1463Sorry, but Kerry doesn't merely "lean" toward the people. I just don't agree that how he voted on one trade agreement determines whether you're a "money" or "people" oriented politician. Sirota nails Kerry on voting yes to the Oman Free Trade Agreement. We discussed that here, and although some were disappointed with his vote on this agreement, a lot of us (myself included) felt that this was directly related to terrorism, war, and diplomacy in that region. That this agreement would not have a profound effect on the workers (like CAFTA would), and that foreign policy was involved here. It's not like a corporation gave him a pile of money and he thought, "to hell with the people" and voted for the agreement. It was a complex decision that took in considerations other than economic ones.
I know some of you liked the Obama diary he wrote, but it left me cold. I do think he is a purist and I just don't trust him. He'll bash Obama today and Kerry tomorrow. No, he didn't bash Kerry in this diary, but he didn't stack Kerry up the way I would have.
