This David Sirota guy kind of annoys me

Sorry, but Kerry doesn't merely "lean" toward the people. I just don't agree that how he voted on one trade agreement determines whether you're a "money" or "people" oriented politician. Sirota nails Kerry on voting yes to the Oman Free Trade Agreement. We discussed that here, and although some were disappointed with his vote on this agreement, a lot of us (myself included) felt that this was directly related to terrorism, war, and diplomacy in that region. That this agreement would not have a profound effect on the workers (like CAFTA would), and that foreign policy was involved here. It's not like a corporation gave him a pile of money and he thought, "to hell with the people" and voted for the agreement. It was a complex decision that took in considerations other than economic ones.

I know some of you liked the Obama diary he wrote, but it left me cold. I do think he is a purist and I just don't trust him. He'll bash Obama today and Kerry tomorrow. No, he didn't bash Kerry in this diary, but he didn't stack Kerry up the way I would have.

1. That one didn't bother me much

I thought the comment about the Oman treaty was not pushed real hard. Sirota has been better to Kerry lately, ever since the Connecticut race and Sen. Kerry's strong backing for Ned Lamont.

I thought it was a fair diary. It sounded like Sirota felt that Kerry was 99 44/100ths percent there in the People column. I have heard worse things said about Sen. Kerry in the last few days. This was mild criticism.

2. Well that's why I said he "kind of " annoys me.

Oh well -- you're right it could be worse, but somehow it bugged me, that one vote led to him not being a full "people" party guy. Still, your perspective is right -- there HAS been a lot worse said about Sen. Kerry.
