Question about Logan Airport.
Is there a central baggage claim area, or are there separate baggage claim areas for each terminal? Does any one know? I can't tell by looking at the tiny map on their website.

1. There would be a few of them
connected to your airline. Follow the crowd to get to the right spot.

I think the best and least expensive course of action might be what MBS said in another thread. Take the shuttle to the Subway station. Take the Silver Line in town. Then get a cab to the hotel. It will be way, way cheaper and the escalators and stuff make the trip itself easier.

2. So 2 different airlines will have completely different baggage claims
in different parts of the airport? We're just planning on meeting up, and I thought baggage claim would work, but then we were worried that they're all split up. We'll call, too, but just were trying to think of a place to meet up, in general.

There's three of us, so a cab may be reasonable for us.

6. the beauty of the Silver Line is that it stops AT THE TERMINAL
you don't need to take an extra shuttle to T station. It goes straight FROM AIRPORT TERMINALs into South Station downtown, also stopping at other places on the way.

7. THIS STOPS 2 BLOCKS FROM THE PARK PLAZA
Edited on Tue Dec-05-06 03:24 PM by TayTay
Whew, I'm hoarse now from shouting.

Not a bad deal for .90 cents. People who are coming in later in the day can call and someone already at the hotel can meet you. The nearest stop is New England Medical Center.

http://www.mbta.com/traveling_t/schedules_subway_silverline_upcoming.asp

Go to Google Maps and enter this address: 821 Washington St, Boston, MA 02111

You can where New England MEdical Center is. 2 1/2 blocks or so over is the Park Plaza Hotel. Not a bad deal for 90 cents or so. (That is the silver line fare from Logan to this location.)

Even getting off at South Station and then taking a cab will save you $10-15 bucks in cab fare.

3. Each terminal has a baggage claim area
So if you all arrive at the same terminal, you should be able to meet up there. There are obviously separate belts for each flight arrival, but they're all in one huge room.

4. Remember those cell phone numbers
that you have and turn the phones on when you arrive. The pre-planning will help. Then you can meet up. I believe there are intra-terminal shuttles as well. (Maybe. But then again I fly out of Manchester NH mostly so what do I know?)
