Did anyone else see this? http://www.sptimes.com/2006/12/05/State/Gov_Bush_s_dad_gets_t.shtmlThey were showing video of it on one of the morning shows, and I thought it was a spectactularly bizarre display by W's daddy.

1. My theory: he wishes Jeb had won that election in '94 so that HE |

would have been president, instead of that black sheep loser W. Seriously, that's why he is sobbing. Heck, I'll sob along with him.

I once watched a documentary about the Bush family on French TV and they said that Bush senior wasn't happy at all when W ran for Governor in Texas at the same time Jeb ran in Florida. He thought W's run would lessen Jeb's chance to win in Florida. And he was right when Jeb lost, the wrong son, the one he saw as his successor. The Bush family's reputation has been ruined forever by W. And his father won't be defined by his own presidency but he will only be known as the father of this loser W. I think he realized that and can't bear it.

4. exactly what they were saying on Countdown tonight. |

They figured Poppy was thinking: Jeb was always the bright one, the one who should have taken the presidency--and now the name "Bush" is political poison and he won't get his chance. Dubya, meanwhile, could take it or leave it, and said as much when he first ran for prez. Should not have bothered!

went over to the ME to declare the Decider an "honest man," this is not surprising! Next he'll be extolling the virtues of Neil!
