Heads up - BET series American Gangster covers CIA-Contra drugrunning story
and they show parts of Kerry's hearings and interview with him from 1996. The other lawmaker that they highlight is Maxine Waters.

Go here for the links and please contact BET and ask when it will be rerun and THANK THEM for covering an issue that too many want swept under the rug.

They're obsessed with Obama right now, but that's expected.

I will go thank them. Thanks. :hi:

3. That brings up a question - did Obama take up the plight of the inner-city
residents that were being inundated with these drugs at the time?

Did he offer political support to Kerry or Maxine Waters at the time? Has he ever commented on the entire issue?

Seems to me that would separate the talkers from the doers.

Nor has he or other 08 canididates commented on this. Preoccupation with Iraq is understandable.

5. Except what was happening then has effected the communities for how many years?
I believe the word has been 'devastated' and done by an action of callous deliberation by official powers.

Seems to me that if that is where Obama's heart is that he would have had something to say and something to offer by stepping up and shouldering some of the workload on the issue. He was already becoming a known figure and he could have used his growing stature for this most SERIOUS of issues that linked the inner city communities with governmental and WORLD AFFAIRS.

Surprised I can't find anything on this topic, considering his aspirations at the time and now.
