AP is the biggest joke in the universe: Gates confirmation a "victory for Bush"

Did it even OCCUR to them that Gates is only getting this job because BUSH AND RUMMY FUCKED IRAQ UP? How is that a VICTORY???

The only two votes against him were from extreme wingnuts Santorum and Bunning who didn't like the fact that Gates isn't as pro-war as they are.

1. Not that bad

At least they call it "a victory of sorts" and the article does also say:

Gates won political points with Democrats when he said he did not think the U.S. was winning in Iraq. That response appeared to contradict Bush, who said at an Oct. 25 news conference, "Absolutely, we're winning."

The article doesn't outright say that Bush was forced into dumping Rummy due to a failed policy, but it sure does imply this view.
