Ha!! Kos post on CNN's Greenfield whining about outrage over his "botched joke"

CNN's Greenfield whines that his "joke" was simply misunderstood.

Most of what happened here, I think, is a demonstration of the hair-trigger instincts that have grown up among some of the bloggers....In a political world where partisans routinely assume the worst about their adversaries — and where conspiracy theories stretch from Bill Clinton as a drug ring- and murder-enabler to Bush as planner of 9/11 — there's a tendency to find malice aforethought.

Of course, CNN wasn't one of the media outlets that pounced all over Kerry for his "botched" joke a couple weeks before the election, right? And Greenfield, I'm sure, decried his media colleagues "hair trigger instincts" jumping all over Kerry, "assuming the worst"?

Of course not.

We find "malice aforethought" because we've seen the media (CNN included) trash Gore, then trash Kerry, based on absolutely ridiculous bullshit. And we won't let them get away with "jokes" comparing Democrats to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Saddam Hussein. Not anymore.


Go leave Markos a positive comment, because he got this one right.

MSNBC has been pushing the "Hussein" middle name thing too. I hope most Democrats have realized we have to stop that sort of nonsense no matter who it is launched against. It doesn't matter whether it's intended as a joke or not, it's the kind of slander the right wing uses and when it's put in print by respected journalists, it only lends credence to their lies. I can understand the media denying how much they twisted the public's perception this last few years, but I can't understand why they keep doing it.
