Couric won't be there to do the interview. Her last interview with him was "catty".

Text of report in English by Syrian News Agency SANA website
Damascus, 20 December: Foreign Minister Walid al-Mu'allim called on Wednesday <20 December> upon the United States to assume her role as an honest sponsor of the Middle East peace process.
"The United States should take over her role as an honest sponsor of the peace process, to contribute to achieving peace and stability in the Middle East region," the minister told two visiting US Senators John Kerry and Chris Dodd.
Mu'allim emphasized on the other hand, Syria's keenness on security and stability in the region and the need that the international community hold responsibility to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region based on the UN Security Council resolutions and Madrid reference as well as the land for peace formula that liberate the occupied Arab territories, including the occupied Syrian Golan.
Talks during the meeting included view exchange on latest international and regional developments, mainly developments in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq.

This is so Jewish press. Half the article is Kerry having Jewish roots and reletives who died in the Holocaust. Of all the things that made Kerry Kerry, these rank very very low.
(My local Jewish paper covered Wellstone vs Coleman as a no lose situation.
