Nice threads on GDP. A strange alliance is in place.
Edited on Fri Dec-22-06 09:09 AM by Mass
- Hillary's supporters apparently think that attacking Kerry with the same lies Hillary was attacked with somehow will help Hillary (go figure),

- a DUer in a crusade against her archennemy, the generic Kerry supporter (not even Kerry, Kerry supporters in their entirety). There is no point arguing with her.

There could be a real debate on whether we need more people in the military. It would be a debate worth having on the basis on sound arguments on both side, but this person is clearly not interested. She is after something that according to the media does not exist, the Kerry supporter. I have decided not to answer to her, but do not put her in ignore because her posts are getting more and more dellusional.

She is back on ignore now that she referred to us as the Kerry Klan! (I also wish she would go back to her previous icon (the blinking rat) and leave the innocent Gores off her hateful posts.

4. She is not the one who bothers me. Most people see thru her game.
What bothers me is this attack of Hillary's people on Kerry? In one sense, it is flattering because they bother attacking him.

5. The argument is insulting
And disregards facts. How sad.

There is a serious thread that asks for people with actual knowledge of how the military works to post real information on how a build-up in the permanent armed forces works. That thread lists nor particular politicians and asks for info from people who have relatives, friends, etc to talk about this from a realistic point of view. I want that info. This issue affects real people and there are a lot of people and families under real duress because of this crisis. That should be addressed.

8. I wonder if they are really Hillary people
If they are, they are only following her lead. It's been clear since the election that she is not a Kerry fan. (Which shouldn't be a surprise - he is a rival and he is in many ways an "anti-Bill Clinton", the man she choose. Kerry is principled, where Clinton isn't. Clinton lies very very well, Kerry can't or doesn't. Kerry has taken positions he things are right - knowing they are not politically popular, I can't think of any isue Clinton put ahead of himself.)

10. They sound just like her.
I think I had one post in my Pres. Kerry thread. New to DU so it seems with two comments and the second one says Kerry shouldn't run and then mentions the usually about Kerry 04, but then suggests his "low" polling numbers indicate no one wants him to run. Hummmm, Polls, numbers.

13. I hope you alerted on every post that broke the rules.
I think - I may be wrong, but I think - that the admins actually WANT people to alert when someone breaks the rules. They have rules for a reason. If people get pissed off and go elsewhere, because this place becomes overrun by assholes, then it doesn't do anything for Skinner and Co. at all.

So, my suggestion is to take these people off ignore occasionally and alert on their posts that break the rules.

Especially on that thread and that poster -s/he is WAY out of line.

19. The thread is locked now.
Okay, I'll admit, I didn't alert on EVERY post that I thought was over the line - I do have other things to do today.

I am glad they locked it, and I think it proves that alerting does work (even if not always, and not as fast as we might like sometimes - the mods get busy around here at times, I think).

unelectable because black.

Something tells me Hillary's supporters are becoming desperate.

9. That was one of the dumbest articles I ever saw.
I assume the author thinks that Bill Clinton, "the first black President" is more culturally black than Obama. I believe the Chicago upperwest side town Hillary grew up in was pretty lily white in the 50s and I don't think Wellsley was that diverse either.

11. Blurring the distinctions
It was very effective with the left during the 2004 election, Kerry and Bush were the same. I guess they think if they convince people Hillary and Kerry are the same now, it'll discourage the left from Kerry and push them towards Edwards, Obama or even Kucinich. JK has got to get some air somewhere and Hillary really doesn't want to have to try to deal with him, and the others at the same time. One of the two is going to be the wise elder of the Dem Party, running against the fresh face, charisma bla bla. If JK convinces the left that we need to run on being right and taking on the lies and smear tactics, then Hillary has real opposition. The pragmatists will start realizing that we need a candidate who was right on the war and foreign policy too, and if that happens, Hillary is sunk. I actually think she's sunk anyway, my fear is that Biden or Richardson will edge her out in the end.

14. Why do you fear Biden or Richardson?
The WP seemed to spend a lot of time pushing Biden as the foreign policy expert and either Time or Newsweek had an article suggesting him as the dark horse and the polls didn't flicker.

He is sometimes good on talk shows, but he has heavy baggage and can't seem to control his ego or his tendancy to tell made up stories.

Richardson has a good resume - but he was pretty corrupted by the Clinton years.

16. What you say, and
Biden does talk a good game on he talk shows, but he never follows through with the vote. Drives me nuts. I do not want him taking up air in the Democratic primary.

Richardson, I've read some things, women and drinking, but I don't know about that. But I've not always been thrilled with his foreign policy views, and I've read some things about changes in New Mexico that favored business. Basically, I just don't want anymore Clintonism.

23. i'm not sure which one you are talking about
there are a few of them who share what you describe.

i have never seen anything like it before. while supporters of other candidates bash Kerry they at least do something like bring up how they are different (and in thier opinion can do better than Kerry).

but Hillary supporters seem to respond to any criticism of Hillary with "Kerry supports the same thing and he sucks". what the fuck ????????? and of course they have to distort and lie in order to do it.

it's not too surprising as Hillary has not taken the lead on anything. well, maybe that thing with Joe Lieberman on rating video games or something. well, that might explain why they do what they do.

meanwhile you got Kerry who is leading on things like foreign policy. going to other nations and meeting with leaders, conducting diplomacy.
