The shit is finally going to hit the fan. Bush isn't wasting any time waiting for approval from Congress to send more troops into this mess he's made. He's sneaking them in the back door!! I found out over the holidays that my Grandaughter Heidi, who is reg. Navy, is being shipped to Kuwait on or around Valentines day. This is her first assignment since she completed her training as a medic. This is what she wanted, to be on the front lines helping the wounded. This AM I heard on the news that Def Sec. Gates has signed approval for over 3,000 Airborne Troops (I don't recall which Division, I think it might have been the 102nd) to be shipped into Kuwait immediately. Something is going on, and my Heidi is going to be right in the midst of it. Bush is going to have one WILD Grandmother breathing down his throat if something happens to that kid. Senator Kerry......PLEASE HELP!! Stop this insane man that is sending our kids to die!!!! :banghead:

1. I don't even know what to say. |

This is just awful. Heidi will be in my prayers.
The Dems can't stop this madman from accelerating his war. That power resides in the Commander in Chief. But the Congress does have to right to hold oversight and accountability hearings and that is what they are going to be doing.
Oh, and don't be surprised if a certain withdrawal amendment finds it's way back to the floor of the Senate.

How many dems will be for it after they were against it?
And DC, all my best wishes. It is frightening that so many wonderful young peoples' futures are dependent on the decidings of a thoughtless, soulless idiot.

7. Why can't they stop him? Why can't they hold hearings to |
|
discuss the 'surge', and all the other boneheaded decisions this admin has made? And while they're at it, why can't they halt funding at least til they get some answers to outstanding questions that haven't been answered? And my thoughts and prayers will be with Heidi and you, DC.

As you can see, I've been jumping around all over the boards today. Like I'm always just one step behind you!! LOL! I'm trying to keep my mind occupied. Already sick of hearing about Jerry Ford. Like there's nothing else going on in the whole "effen" world today!! I can't wait for the new Congress to convene. I don't think I will be able to exhale until that time when I see our "wicked tall" Senator on the floor of the Senate and we get down to business. I've just got this awful forboding that it ain't ever gonna happen!!! It's like the fates have intervened and the State Funeral over the whole rest of the week , is going to detract just enough for them to pull something over on us once again. Oh Lord, I'm rambling!! I do that when I'm pissed , or worried. That's why I'm jumping around on the boards. I'm HUNGRY for news!!!

2. I'm so sorry about your granddaughter, DC |

 * doesn't want to wait until the new Congress is seated, because they'd challenge him the whole "surge" idea.
My suggestion? Draft the Bush twins!!!

Iraq is a permanent sick feeling in my stomach. It boggles the mind that people are still trying to spin this horribly immoral act as anything but criminal.
Your granddaughter, no one, should be used to advance the evil neocon agenda.

I'm so sorry, DC. I can't even imagine what you are going through.
Heidi must be a very special and brave young woman to want to be on the front lines helping our wounded. She will be in my thoughts until she comes home safely.

especially as she will celebrate her 19th birthday in Feb.!! She enlisted and went in right after her high school graduation. I'm sorry I haven't gotton back to anyone else yet, but I will. I'm having some physical problems today. Oh, and Tay I know JK can't do anything personally, I was just falling off the "deep end"! I wish there was some way to let him know what I suspect is going on behind the scenes tho'!! Listen to me, he probably knows already 'cause he is so on the ball!!

I just don't get how these old people can be so reckless when they send these young kids into such danger. It really is immoral.

It isn't sounding like Baghdad is going to be getting any better soon. Maybe she will work in a facility in Kuwait, and not be put in danger. I just read an article over on the Baghdad embassy site, they're calling this a transition year. I could swear that's what Biden et al were saying this past year was. I don't think they're planning on troop withdrawal at all. Just sad. I'll keep you and your granddaughter in my thoughts.
