Wow. This is a surprise. We'll have to wait to see if it's true.

1. Brownback out too
Read that over in GD somewhere. What the hell? Hagel is actually their best chance to win. I guess he didn't kiss enough Bushbutt.

2. I think the Brownback thread was a joke.
I don't have the link, but if it's the same one I saw, the OP was joking. On a related note, Brownback himself is also a joke. :)

3. Maybe so
I don't even remember if I read the post itself or not, to tell the truth. Mentalpause, it's delightful.

Brownback is a chuckle in a long line of jokes.

4. Lot of announcements, huh?
Wonder what's behind the no-senate run by Hagel?

5. well, i guess there goes any hope for any substance and intelligence
on the Republican side.

i think they are gathering around McCain. the Republican Primary is rarely competitive as the Dem Primary is.

6. Good people are getting tired of being in the Senate and being unable to do anything.

Hagel understands he does not stand any chance of being the GOP nominee except by betraying what he believes in.

Any chance he tries to run as an independant?

However, I would be cautious of the source. GOP insiders do not like Hagel, so may be it is worth waiting for something more substantial.
