What TIME magazine had to say about John Kerry
In the same issue that named George W. Bush as "Person of the Year", TIME also featured the Senator in its section entitled "People Who Mattered 2004". Other notables include the Democratic New York Attorney-General Eliot Spitzer, Ron Reagan, and Gavin Newsom.

The picture of JK is a very good one; an unorthodox one. Its a two page black and white spread, showing him looking up at the camera from the edge of a swimming pool.

The caption for Kerry read:

"He had the hair, the height, and a war hero's gravitas. He ran with a sunshine boy and had Michael Moore and the French behind him. He lost, the pundits said, in good measure because too many voters didn't believe he would do the best job of thwarting another terrorist attack. "Our fight goes on," Kerry intoned in his concession speech. For now, it's back to his old job as the junior Senator from Massachusetts."

While I disagree with the assessment that he lost because voters didn't trust him with national security (I personally believe it was because the Republicans ran one of the most dishonest, filthy, scurrilous, and hypocritical campaign in American history), I believe that TIME accurately described JK. He still has the perfect makings to be the 44th President of the United States. And as the caption points out, the good fight does go on. Fortunately, we'll have Senator John Kerry leading that charge.

Note: If you guys are wondering why I even bothered to pick up a copy of the TIME Person of the Year issue, the answer is I didn't buy it per se. I have a yearly subscription so it came automatically. I don't think I can force myself to buy a magazine with Bush on the cover. Ugh, disgusting.

12. No sweat!
My 15 year old daughter and I agree that Kerry is a very fine looking man. She see's him more as a great-uncle figure of course, but nonetheless she says he is handsome! He's already taken anyway and we don't have a chance in hell to get him away from that spitfire! Come to think of it, I'm already taken as well, so I probably ought to shut my mouth!

16. ooh that reminds me of a story:
at an event for campaign workers in Wisconsin this fall, we had a surprise guest from Illinois-- the son of a close college friend of John Kerry's who is actually JK's godson. He referred to his godfather as "Uncle Johnny". I thought that was so cute!

He told about how his little daughter gave JK one of her two gold "birthday coins" to spend on his campaign, and after a few weeks, even though he was terribly busy, she received a long hand-written thank-you from JK. That's the kind of guy he is.

9. Gyah...
What an odd photo choice for Time magazine to run! Do you think they're onto the fangirl factor? :9

(JK is older than my dad by a whole month and a half. I don't give a damn. Lots of "sex symbol" celebrities--Harrison Ford, Alan Rickman, Robert Redford, etc., are in that age range too.)

It just makes me sad thinking about what we have to look at instead. Fugly face, fugly soul.

Oops Redford is 67, not well beyond, but older than Kerry. Ford is 52, not that old at all! Man 60 year olds just didn't look that good when I was a kid!

25. Chronological age is irrelevant when two adults are concerned
He is older than my father, and I'm sure I don't give a good goddamn. I am not attracted to anyone my age- they're all far too immature and thick headed to ever appeal to me. I've always *felt* older than I am, in that I don't really relate well to my peer group. And damn, it's not like John lookslike he belongs in a rest home. Oh, hell no. So I feel not at all creepy in lusting after him, because he represents my ideal man in nearly every way. Hell, the biggest roadblock as far as that's concerned isn't the age difference, but rather his wife. I don't think I'd want to cross her - she'd probably kick my ass in a catfight. Age and experience always beats youth and enthusiasm, so they say, and I don't think I'd want to end up on her bad side anyways. So I'll just have to dream on.

But ANYWAY, that's a fantastic picture... :loveya: God, TIME, don't make me buy that copy with Shrub on the cover... dammit.

29. OMG LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look at some photos of his Navy days, tooo hot and the hair....:loveya:

This is a snip from "Tour of Duty" by Douglas Brinkley"

Years later, he could joke about how bad he looked bullet-headed. "big-time shaved, big-time shock and big-time ugly!" he laughed. "I was not meant to have no hair. God gave me a strange head shape, and baldness just doesn't work. It's not Bruce Willis's look at all that I had. I was an ungainly sight. I was miserable, glad that we weren't able to leave base. Going off base would have riot-shock value: cruel and unusual punishment to gazers."

32. Dear sweet Jesus
That man is incredible. I picked up that issue of Time today in B&N, but it pissed me off because the picture is a two-page spread and they cut his face in half in between the pages. And fully 50 pages is the fawning, sycophantic Great Fuerher Boosh hagiography. :puke: I really fucking want to own that picture of John, too. SHIT, why didn't he pose like this during the campaign? He could've got the Harlequin crowd out at the polls! Damn but he's so incredibly handsome. :loveya:

Ahm, now I feel old. In keeping with the theme of this post John Kerry is old enough to be my, ahm, cousin, or an uncle (if there was a second marriage or something.)

Slinking away to think about applying for AARP now...

I have a kid in college ... that would make him old enougn to be her second cousin, twice removed, I think.

26. I'm not sure if I'm allowed
Ahm, I can't send floatie hearts because, ahm,

I'm from New England and we are too reserved and cold to send floatie hearts, especially to someone we know. (They might find out.) And to send floatie hearts to a pol, I might be forced to move.

No? Hmm, (TayTay try harder.)

Ahm, I'm still a newbie and I don't know where to get floatie hearts yet. (That sounds reasonable.) No? Tough crowd!

Real reason, I actually know someone who dated JK way way back in the early '90's. (Obviously before he got married. Very innocent and nothing really happened, long story.) The floatie hearts just remind me of that. I don't actually know JK to talk to, but I do actually talk to this other person frequently and this whole thing came up agian in the campaign and it was hugely funny, as some brush with famous people stories can be.

Oh hell, <insert floatie heart here> for CES

http://fullfrontalfashion.com/nymetro/news/people/columns/intelligencer/newyorkminute/n_8971/

Ever since he squired a certain blonde starlet named Gwyneth around town a few years ago, ketchup heir Chris Heinz has been likened to JFK Jr.—at least physically.

She is like the Kerrycrats she don't take no shit off no damn body. And I can't say I blame her for protecting her prize she sure as hell lucked up and got the top prize with him!

I wonder if she ever gets mad about other women lusting over John?
Because you know there are plenty of them out ther hell look at us!
All though we got since enough to know it is wishful thinking on our parts and we just carry on like we are nuts to have fun. But there are true nut cases out there thar would try to seduce the man if they got the chance. Can't you picture Teresa whoopin someone's ass LOL. That would be fun to watch. She could do it to. 52. Oh, I know
Half of what makes him so sexy is his personality and his honor. He's a gentleman in every sense of the word, in an era in which gentlemen are damn hard to find. He's a good looking man anyway, but knowing of his personality and his convictions what I do, he becomes damned sexy. Yeah, too bad he's taken. Pretty sure I wouldn't want to be on Teresa's bad side, either.

61. You know it!
I can't help but smile just looking at this picture. For a while I had it on my desktop, and had to smile every time.

66. That First Picture Is A Good One
This man is so compassionate, caring, and understanding. When I see pictures like that it sends chill all over my body. They are so sad but yet so telling of the man in the picture. I guess this is one of the qualities about Kerry that made me like him so well many years ago. He truly is a great man that would make a great leader for our country. It is men like Kerry that are rare and hard to come by. When you do find them you need to be thankful you did.
