Beautiful story and picture. Bless those students -- they'll never forget this election; they'll keep that hope and determination and pass it on to their kids!
Thank you for posting -- I would have missed it!

I can be considered one of the oldest of the "millennials" according to official demographics, but depending on the source that's in dispute... I could also be considered one of the younges "xers", or jsut hanging out in-between.
... but emotionally, I am with the millennials all the way. Because that is the generation that cares about its country, is civial rights, its proud democratic traditions; and will make history as they undertake the monumental task of healing our country again.
I can't describe how proud I am to be in the company of so many people who care, and keep informed, and make history. :patriot:

6. Yes, I have the highest hopes for the Millenials |
|
I hadn't thought of this story initially in generational terms, but, you're right: that is part of the story. I have long thought that they would be a key group in leading us out of darkness. Certainly, whether it has anything to do with their generation or not, Prairie View A & M is leading the way for us here. (Does anyone know whether they all got their votes cast successfully, by the way?)

8. Yup. Basically Gen X and Y are the ones doing all the fighting in Iraq, too. |
|
And they gave either to Ron Paul or Barack Obama. Very telling.

7. Wow. More here with video: |
|
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/23/11362/8581/707/456937The first video is from a distance showing them marching. The second one is a hip hop tune "March to the Polls!" which is what they are chanting as they march. Both are moving. Did the media cover it at all? They should. I hope that Senator Kerry knows about this. This is a legacy to 2004, and really going back to 2000.
