On Thursday, May 1, 2008, the American Security Project's Board of Directors will release a keystone document that provides the framework for a bipartisan approach to the nation's most critical national security issues, including terrorism, energy security, climate change and nuclear proliferation. ASP President and Chair Senator Gary Hart will be joined by former administration officials, political leaders and retired senior military officers who are also ASP board members to discuss the importance of transforming our national security to meet the challenges of a new international environment in which American leadership must consist of more than military power.
The American Security Project created A New American Arsenal to demonstrate that thoughtful bipartisan cooperation on national security is possible, even during an election year. The group plans to take its message to the American public to spur rational and constructive dialogue about the future of American security and our role in the world.
