Congress Passes Kerry-Corker Legislation To Remove Nelson Mandela From Terror Watch List

Sens. John Kerry, Bob Corker, and Sheldon Whitehouse announced on Friday the passage of their legislation to remove former South African President Nelson Mandela from the terror watch list. The bill grants the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security, the authority to waive U.S. travel restrictions on President Mandela and other members of the African National Congress.

2. But a lot do. Really. Honest. I meet them every day.

I talk to people who tell me how much unyielding and tireless support for veterans means to them. They tell me that their kids are or have been deployed multiple times to war zones and it means something to them when Sen. Kerry calls for a focus on the military mission. It means something to these people when Sen. Kerry stands for health care for veterans when they come home and for support programs for the families of those deployed.

I hear from people who do read news accounts of what the good Senator is doing in small business and how he is listening to the concerns of Massachusetts residents worried about their businesses and how they are going to pay the high cost of energy this year.

I hear from people every day who respect Sen. Kerry, what he has done in the Senate for our country and for Massachusetts and who show up to support him.

The media doesn't cover this, but believe me, I hear from Kerry supporters all the time.
