Rollingstone says EXACTLY what we've been saying for years! |
|
In an interview with Obama, they question Obama about being swiftboated. And Rollingstone says, "In the past the Democratic Party has been afraid to stand up for the person being swiftboated." And they comment on how the DNC WAS NOT there for John Kerry to protect him because they were afraid to be smeared by Rove and because they're afraid of being called "unpatriotic" (etc.)
I heard this quote on CNN Reliable Sources just a few minutes ago.
I'll see what links I can grab. Can't wait to toss this into GD...

6. I read the whole thing in hard copy, shamelessly, at a bookstore, |

and couldn't find the Rolling Stone comments about Kerry and the DNC (other than the general question about swiftboating, and Obama's answer that he doesn't ever "cower" . hmm, I could call him on that with regard to several of his Senate votes -- yeah, I still support him, but he's not perfect). Maybe I missed it somehow? maybe it was really CNN's comment, not Wenner's? or maybe the online version will be more complete than the hard-copy version?
Anyway. if anyone finds that exact quote, through either CNN or RollingStone, I'd sure love to see it!

3. Another good piece explaining the problems in 2004 and our lack luster Dem party. |
|
I believe a lot of this had to do with the Clinton philosophy of running things. They had so much clout and power things pretty much went as they wanted.

4. yup, and they STILL do it to Kerry |
|
it's funny how many of these "democrats" love to bring up how their favorite was a victim of the media and how unfair it was. but when it comes to Kerry they blame him and claim their loser could have fought the media.
