Wow, I am just amazed by his story. Liberating a concentration camp.

1. I didn't catch this right away. Kerry's reaction to the Swifts was a normal vet's reaction:
Payne, with an Obama button pinned to his shirt, told the AP he was "truly astonished" by the attention paid to Obama's flub. The brother of Obama's maternal grandmother, Payne figures Obama heard the story wrong from his grandparents, "whose grasp of geography wasn't always the firmest." He said at the time he asked friends if he should "try to set the record straight," but that they advised him to ignore it.

Wow. Exactly the same. Kerry was feeding info to the press, but his reluctance to come forward blatantly showed what a true veteran and hero he is and was, like Payne.

2. my parents saw this up close and personal
My father came back to US from graduate work in Europe in late 30's and gave speeches on what Hitler was doing to Jews in Germany and central Europe, and many of his fellow Americans refused to believe him.

3. Wow That must have been heart breaking and frustrating
for your dad. He had to be pretty courageous to speak of the unspeakable things happening.
