Nice letter in MA paper
Senator smeared by ill-informed source

This is in reply to a letter from Worcester, “Kerry opponent listens to working man” (Telegram & Gazette, Aug. 28), that goes all over the map attempting to smear the good senator with junk possibly fed to him by an office kid or, possibly, the challenger himself.

Normally I would ignore such nonsense, but when a good person, a person of faith and of service, is smeared by such an ill-informed source, I cannot sit still.

I’m a World War II veteran and a bilateral amputee since 2001. I’m a certified peer visitor, trained to visit new, old, young and civilian and military amputees. My paths are crossed many times by Sen. John F. Kerry, who works hard for every veteran and working man who is in need. I thank the Lord for him — as many other men and women of the armed forces and citizens of our United States do.

In looking at the letter, I almost feel sorry for candidate Ed O’Reilly, unless he was the one who misguided the letter writer.

I can't imagine anything (other than in 2005, Mr President :)) that Kerry would ever want to be called than "a good person, a person of faith and of service" from someone who has that standing.

That letter gets to reality and says this is not a game. I hope EOR sees this and looks back on all he has done - this writer's comment "almost feel sorry for candidate Ed O’Reilly, unless he was the one who misguided the letter writer." says it all.

2. I love this, too!

Hurrah for David Fekay!! What a good man he seems to be. (just the fact that he's doing the volunteer work he's doing, not to mention his standing up for a most worthy fellow vet)

3. Thank you for pointing this letter out!
It's very moving and speaks volumes about who John Kerry really is and what others who have that same dedication to service think of him. EOR should indeed take note.
