Hi Fellow Kerrycrats - Sorry I've been MIA lately
Hi Folks,

I used to spend a lot of time here in DU Kerry-land, and I've been MIA for a few months. I started back to school full time in September, for a mid-life career-change. It's going well so far, but I'm working my butt off for it. So I haven't had nearly as much time on the internets as when I worked in a cubicle all day.

I'm as delighted as the rest of you about the election results. Hearing that Obama won was like a cool drink of water in the middle of the Sahara. I knew JK would would win reelection, but hearing that news made me smile as well.

I'll try to poke my head in here once in a while to say hi.

Kerry-on,

Rox

Congratulations on having the guts to go back to school and change careers. Would love to hear more details if you feel inclined to share ( via pm or email if you don't want to broadcast your details to the world) In the meantime, keep up the good work!

4. Thanks!
I'm in the first semester of a 2-year program to become a Respiratory Therapist. I just started my first clinical placement a couple of weeks ago. They're not letting us do anything complicated yet, mostly just oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, breathing exercises, etc. The more complex stuff will come later in the program.

Changing careers was a scary decision to make, but I'm very glad I'm doing it. I just made it through midterms a couple of weeks ago, and I'm still happy with the change.

I'll probably be around more during semester break. (12/20 - 1/20) Maybe I could try to get together with a few of the MA Kerrycrats during that time?

3. Hi Rox
Nice to hear from you abd best wishes on school - I hope the classes are interesting as well as leading to a career change. The obama win was great. It was fantastic to see Kerry's win too - especially as I was there in MA with others from here. If there is any doubt in your mind that the Senator is one happy guy - go see the videos on johnkerry.com. He was incredible at the Barnstable rally on Monday nice. On election day, both when he went out to be the first in line to vote and his speech at the victory celebration.

5. I wish I could have been there
I spent 8 hours at my clinical site on election day. Then I went to vote, and went home to watch election returns until fell over asleep.

9. So nice to hear from you!
I've been scarce lately too - lots of life changes going on here too.

I'm also trying to get back in the swing of things.

Congrats, and good luck with your schooling and new career choice.

10. You are making a great choice in
career change. The former head of our Dem town committee has worked as an administrator for yrs and he is going to NECCO for nursing now and loving it.
