A Special LLL Medal of Honor for Vektor! |
|
For bravely injecting some much-needed lusty levity RIGHT INTO THE CENTER OF THE SNAKEPIT. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=242793&mesg_id=242793 (warning: Election Results & Discussion thread. But I think you'll enjoy this one).

I'M John's intern. ME. I think she's asking for a catfight!
But yes, an honorary LLL medal for Vektor. Tell her to come pay us a visit! Specially if she's a Kerryfan!

I don't understand the belligerent atheism on DU. I couldn't give a shit if someone's atheist - some of my very best friends are. That's fine by me. But don't call me a fundy or a delusional idiot because I choose to believe in a universal power.
Ed: speling.

It's rare to find an atheist who ISN'T belligerent. Belligerent is what they do.

they have because they believe in "science" and "reason" and "logic" and therefore are far superior to us blubbering imbeciles who have silly superstitions and fantasies about a big dude in the sky.
Well, I have a news flash for them: I, in fact, hold science, reason, and logic in quite high regard, and do not find it mutually exclusive to my religious beliefs. Somehow, however, they seem to know better than I do what I believe, or so they posit. Interesting how that works.

In fact, my issue paper for government is actually going to be a paper in favor of allowing only evolution to be taught in pubilc schools.

17. I've never had a problem with evolution |

And I believe tha Bible has more in common with the mythologies of ancient cultures like Babylon, Sumaria, and Greece than it does with actual historical record.
It's the ideas and maxims I follow, especially the philosophy of Jesus Christ, rather than wasting my time trying to "prove" that the Bible is the inerrant word of God, when it's obvious that it's a collection of mythology and parables written by prophets from ancient Israel.

I believe that if something makes you happy and you're not hurting anyone, no one should hassle you for it. When people jump on me, however, for not being religious, then I get angry. Otherwise, I don't attack people for being religious. That's just ridiculous. To be honest, the Christian bashing makes me mad and I'm not even religious (I grew up Catholic, sort of)

|
for your beliefs, whatever they are.
I don't understand how the atheists in question on DU can get their panties in such a twist about being persecuted by fundies, and then turn around and do the same thing to liberal, sane Christians.
Oh wait, yeah I do. It's because they're hypocrites!

But I seriously will catfight her to be John's intern. Can that be my official JK group title? "John's Intern"? Or are there too many other volunteers?

14. I did give her a heads-up about us about a week ago. |
|
On the Kerry blog, people would joke around with her and order her back to her padded cell when she would start up her "groupie talk" about JK. It was all good fun. We had to be more circumspect over there--the mods were more vigilant, and it was the blog of "a sitting U.S. Senator" after all, they would say.
