Another small rant
Now that the Senate has confirmed Ms. Rogers Brown to the Supreme Court as the first minority (AA female justice), the minorty ministers will laud him as somebody that has given more opportunities to minorites than any other president. Of course, they will thank him for appointing Rice, Powell, Paige (ex-Secretary of Education), Gonzales (Attorney General), and Chao (Labor Secretary).

It's a shame we have to play the race card just to get ahead in life. Just because Bush has appointed all these people does not and will never make him a champion for Civil Rights. In fact, Bush cares nothing about us. He just want to pay all these ministers for spreading the "good news" about what a "good, Christian man he is" and yet, people bought into that garbage.

Kerry and others tried to warn them that if they don't want Bush appointing 3 or 4 SC justices, than vote him out, yet these whiny people complained and said, he and the Dems are going to take us for granted, so let's stay home. Their poor judgement hurts all of us.

Oh, I guess the Kerry speaking about DSM is over with since he "wimped out" according to Raw Story. It's all Kerry's fault he didn't stand with Conyers, or slap the Swifties in their faces, and be proud to call himself and Anitiwar liberal, etc. :sarcasm:

Not mad, just ranting.

1. DSM story not over.
See Mass's post below, and this story from the Boston Phoenix: http://www.bostonphoenix.com/boston/news_features/this_just_in/documents/04747410.asp

It's our alternative paper, and Dan Kennedy is a really good reporter.

THE SMOKING GUN?
Kerry, Bush, and the Downing Street memo
BY DAN KENNEDY

...In a statement e-mailed to the Phoenix on Tuesday, Kerry spokesman Setti Warren said, "Senator Kerry believes every American deserves a thorough explanation of the Downing Street memo. The Administration and the Washington Republicans who control Congress insult Americans by refusing to answer even the most basic questions raised in this memo about pre-war intelligence and planning for the aftermath of war. That’s unacceptable, especially with the lives of America’s sons and daughters on the line. John Kerry will demand answers in the Senate. Stay tuned."

Kerry is right to demand answers. And though the Downing Street memo tells us little we didn’t already know, maybe it will prove to be the catalyst to finally holding the Bush administration to account. On Tuesday, both Bush and Blair attempted to play down its importance during a joint news conference, a sign that the issue may finally be gaining traction. Kerry — like a majority of senators — made a mistake when he voted to give Bush the authority he needed to go to war. But it was Bush who failed to follow through on the diplomatic front by building a genuine international coalition around the issues of Iraq’s alleged weapons capabilities and terrorist ties, as he had promised to do. The memo is further evidence, if any were needed, that Bush never even intended to try.

3. Jobs, health care, education, home ownership
Jobs
health care
education
price of gas
home onwership (watch the interest rates)
military draft (Watch this. We are running out of volunteers.)

Tell me that if these issues keep getting tighter and tighter and money from the state and the feds keep drying up that these won't be important issues in every segment of the American population and in every identifiable ethnic, geographic, religious or class grouping in America. (Except the very, very rich who can tell the rest of us to f*ck off.)

These are rock-rib Democratic issues. If we make the case for them in all our communities, we win.
