12. Are you watching?
The stuff Lugar was saying about regimes that are nervous not knowing what we are up to with our unilateral advocacy for "regime change"- I kept thinking, "And this guy intends to vote FOR Bolton??????"

15. It's on c-span3.
They said they're going to have to break soon for a roll call vote, but then will reconvene. Biden's speaking now.

Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 09:22 AM by whometense
I can't load anything. Have you seen Kerry yet?

This Christopher Hill (Asst. Sec. of State, East Asian & Pacific Affairs) character is a real snotty, defensive piece of work, even with Hagel questioning him. He has a "how dare you question me?" tone in his voice. No wonder * likes him.

8. Wyden is on this committee
Working Families has an activist alert to tell him to oppose this until there are strong environmental, human and labor rights regulations in it. Baucus might do better this time because corporate power and trade is something Schweitzer ran on in Montana.

9. There was an interesting WaPo story this weekend
on CAFTA. The US Chamber of Commerce is threatening Rethugs with a loss of contributions over a failure to support CAFTA. Interesting. One newspaper report I read said that a vote *might* come tomorrow on this in Finance. This comm and the one on the Korean Six-Party talks are being held concurrently. Both are important.
