The cure for political overload
I'm burning out, guys. So I put up one serious post this morning and now am going to busy myself with the all-important job of keeping my fellow Kerrycrats' spirits up.

Here's your first dose of medicine: Look at liberally, as needed.

1. These photos were taken at the
John Kerry for President rally in Norfolk, VA on July 27th 2004.

8. I was there
I was a volunteer along with my husband. As he entered they played Anchors Aweigh and the flags were a waving, brought tears to my eyes. I remember one lady after it was over saying, isn't he wonderful, it was her first time seeing him. Optimism and hope was alive that day, over 5,000 showed up on an early hot Tuesday morning.

Thanks for reminding me of that day. :yourock:

14. David Ashe in the picture!
The guy on the far right of the photo is David Ashe, the Democratic Congressional candidate for my district I was talking about him in another thread! I'm still on his e-mail list. He's an Iraq War veteran. He lost :(.

Hey FedupinBushCountry -- I think we must be practically neighbors in VB!

At the time I wasn't getting the newspaper or reading blogs, so I had no idea he was coming to Norfolk. Plus I had a one year old and a three year old -- not sure taking them to a rally in hot July would have been a good idea.

Thanks for the pics Whometense!

7. Oh, man. That photo is NICE. One of the nicest ever.
Thanks, whometense!

Don't worry, the burn-out can be reversed. I had a small burn out about a month ago, took a short break, and reembraced the joy in the late spring. 'S fine now.

11. Thanks.
It really gets overwhelming. I'm not as good as some at filtering out the excess.

But nothing cures me better than a good JK picture! He looks so presidential in this one.

I don't know what's up with that website, but here's the original picture again. Hopefully this one won't disappear.

18. Okay, Whometense, I give up
I haven't a clue who that guy is. Someone from England? I can't read what the button says. Just so you know I was working on the mystery photo and have come up empty.

Back in Boston, joking with the press. Hmmm, he has really nice hands. (Did I ever tell you that?)

Sigh!

I have to say, I like the casual look on him. It's a really nice profile shot too.

Thanks!
