I swear to god, you read what people say about democrats and its like youre readign about a republican, and then you realize that they're talking about a democrat. Weld was a very popular governor, was going against Kerry coming off a 72% win I believe, the fact that Kerry beat him by 8% points was I think quite impressive. BTW I am no genius but wouldnt a Kerry AYE vote on that ludrious bankruptcy bill favor these companies and banks, he instead voted NO.

Edwards is a charismatic southerner. I like Elizabeth. I hear a lot of peeps looking at Feingold though. I know he is cool for voting against the Patriot Act.

Hes a good guy but with his maverickness comes some things about him that I dont agree with but hes a great guy. Like one example of this is his voting for Ashcroft as AG not because he thought Ashcroft would be a good AG but because he helieves every cabinet official should get confirmed, it seems hes changed his mind on that though, as he votead against Gonzales, and hes opposed to Bolton I believe.

Feingold is a great guy, but you cannot judge somebody by one vote.

22. Don't know. But there's as many or more lies out about Kerry as there were |
|
Edited on Sun Jun-19-05 08:09 AM by blm
Clinton. BushInc was fighting Kerry since 1972, one way or another, so plenty of time for lies to be planted and have taken root. "he's a phony." was started by Nixon's henchmen to counter what they really thought of Kerry - he was smart, articulate and charismatic. Somehow, the [lanted meme took over in newsrooms around the country.

We indeed do have lying, moronic, no-good Rethug sons of b*tches in Massachusetts. I told you Grover Norquist and Andy Card came from here. Mittens has his fans, though I blame all the mercury in the water for this nascent brain-damage.
BTW, it's not true. If even 5% of it was true, Kerry would have been reamed by the Boston Globe and the other MA newspapers. (Just absolutely crucified over this.) Kerry had 'ethical problems' in the '96 Senate race because he had used a car for his campaign that came from a friend with a dealership. The pay for the use of the car was late. This qualified as an honest-to-gawd ethical issue on the guy. (Ahm, we are talking about the Globe spending hours of reporter time and money to investigate this trivial issue, which was resolved honorably and ethically.) Can you even imagine what the Globe would have done to Kerry if they thought he was in bed with the banking interests?
MA Rethugs' little heart-like organs were all aflutter in the '90 race because they thought they had caught Kerry in a conflict of interest. Kerry had a friend who was involved in the awful Savings and Loan defaults, which cost the US Treasury billions of dollars. The Senator was in charge of raising money to elect Dem Senators and had paid for the use of this guys yacht at a fundraiser. The guy asked for special treatment from Kerry, who was on the Banking Committee at the time. No special treatment or favors were granted and the specific things asked for never happened. The Senator was a bit naive and was warned by staff that appearances matter and that just because someone is an old friend doesn't mean you should associate with them. Sad but true. (As far as I remember, the naivete went away and Kerry did learn that appearances matter.)
This is what the idiotic MA poster was referring to. These people are demented from years of trying to find actual ethical problems with Kerry, who is pretty squeaky clean. The inability to find anything has obviously driven them mad. (Stupid MA Rethugs. Go fish in a pond that is actually stocked, you dumb mofos. I really despise these people.)
