What's up w/ the Kerry threads?
Did something happen to inspire the wrath of the LFs or is it just another typical day?

10. Tommorow
I am upbeat because when I got a ride home from a friend today, he offered to give me a ride to the outer banks and help me find a place to stay.

2. DSM; creeping wankiness; lack of things to do
the usual. People get pissy in the summer.
Ho Hum!

4. It's interesting when you ask them what their senators are doing and DSM..
and they never answer.

6. because they don't really care about the issue
they just care to bash Kerry and will even post right wing sources to do it.

if they really cared and wanted something done they would contact ALL the Senate to do something about it.

7. This happens each time somebody posts a rumor about what Kerry will do
I am getting tired of Kerry's PR strategy on this one.

Either he is going to do something very soon and they should put out an official announcement of what they are doing and not let supporters push leaks to please a few people,

Or he is not doing something for some reason (and some may be very good) or he is preparing something but does not want to say what it is yet. His team should stop the leaks and rumors and keep quiet.

Nothing better than announcement that do not happen to feed the Kerry bashers.

11. I don't think that's a fair criticism on that one
Kerry said he would 'raise the issue.' That's it. The Lefty boards believe completely in the power of the DSM to takedown *. (I think it's important. But it's not the be-all and end-all of taking down *.) The LF's are starved for things that will takeout the REthugs and *. So they leapt on Kerry's innocuous statement and inflated it into what it wasn't.

Kerry didn't set up this game of expectations. He made a simple statement that he had found a piece of information and found it interesting enough to bear further study and investigation. The LF's took that and ran with it. Again, the left is starved, just starved for someone to come and seriously wound *'s standing. Any little thing gets inflated into 'the thing' that will do it.

It's not fair, but life is unfair.

13. I dont think the leaks in rawstory and Washington Post helped
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 08:37 PM by Mass
particularly because they were anonymous sources and therefore easy to criticize as dubious.

Kerry's statement was fine. I have no problem with that.

I am just saying that may be it would have been better after that to let things sleep until Kerry is ready to speak rather than feeding the media and the blogs with rumors (even if these rumors were justified), either that or post something official about what Kerry intended to do.

I can understand the reasons why he did not publish his intentions. I have issues with the communication strategy, and it is not the first time I have the same questions.

14. The blogs do what they do
They are fickleness personified. (Or machinified, as the case may be.) The story on Kerry is today's news. If Kerry makes a great statement or speech, then tomorrow's news changes.

We've been through the 'OMG Jeff Gannon' story that was going to take down the White House. (Didn't happen.) We went through all the election fraud stuff that was going to reverse the election results (didn't happen.) Kerry has been up and then down and up on DU and DKos and so forth so many times, my head spins.

None of this stuff matters. What matters is that you just keep moving forward and keep moving the ball forward. The malcontents and whiners will do what they do. It seems to be all they have in the world. So what?

17. I tried so hard to ignore the lefty freepers today, I really did.
But there were a couple in KerryGoddess's thread about news coming soon from Kerry that were bashing him so badly that it just made my bloodboil. I've never had a post deleted before but this might be the first time. What do you have to do for that to happen anyway? I just called somebody out who was being INSUFFERABLE about Kerry. I just couldn't take it anymore.

I really have to spend more time over here. Haven't been here in awhile.

20. Hi, bunny planet.
My fantasy is that eventually every rational member of DU will drift into this group, leaving the crazies out in GD-P to spit and snarl at each other. ;-)
