He made me cry. From pride, and from frustration. THAT is a president.

11. He sounds and looks not only like a President, |
|
but a very, very good President who would actually level with people on what the country is doing. We really needed him. I hope this gets at least some coverage - he just sounded so sensible in what he laid out.

Leave it to the same old people that want him to set the record straight about his IWR vote. It's all good, I just ignore them.

People need to realize that this is the man who will tell them the truth. Once they get that into their heads, he'll truly be our shadow president. I love how he is getting ahead of tonight's speech and raising the bar for the liar. Reminds us all what a real presidential speech should include! I think we've gotten so used to incompetence that we just accept it. Well, we shouldn't!
He's got it all--timing, eloquence, knowledge, diplomatic smarts, compassion, principles,honesty-- and he's a honey to look at too! :)

16. He really has all those things |

For the life of me, I fail to understand why people couldn't look at Bush's actions and see they absolutely didn't match what he said he wanted to do. To me, that would mean either he is lying about his intentions or is very incompetent.
Kerry on the other hand has throughout his life done what he said he would.

People see Bush and think "they're all alike" and then look no further. My 25 year old son said this to me a week or so ago. He's far too busy to follow politics, so just takes a cynical view of everyone. (He did vote for Kerry in Oregon, by the way.) I told him that some politicians are honest and really working for the people. I told him how everything Kerry said has come true, and everything Bush said turned out to be a lie. He thought about it a while and then agreed I was probably right, and that they aren't all alike. :)

I watched the speech at my daughter's, but haven't yet figured out how to blog and cuddle my grandson at the same time. I knew it was a good speech, but it sure feels good to finally have so many others seem to get it. Nice thread.

I was relying on dembloggers to be able to watch it. Oh well, I guess it was only a matter of time before CSPAN saw and told them to stop.
I really wish I had seen his speech. I hope they reshow it. If anyone knows anything about when it will be reshown, if it will be reshown, please let us all know.
I received the email from JK today, if his speech was anything like what he said in the email, I'm sure he kicked butt.

27. I have a feeling that the C-span entry at 11:30 |
|
is the Kerry speech. It's about 22 minutes long. That's was about the length of the Kerry Speech today. http://inside.c-spanarchives.org:8080/cspan/schedule.csp

C-Span is copyrighted. They make a little bit of money selling their videos. Ahm, it was just a matter ot time. (And how fast C-Span lawyeered up and sent the Cease and Desist.)

* speaking right now (11:10) and John Kerry's speech will follow, probably around 11:45 PM. It's like a throwback to the campaign days. I have to say I've never seen anything like this, having a former presidential candidate be featured as the rebuttal to the president so prominently. JK has come through for us. When I read his statements about Iraq, I know that he is right. He stands up for us and he stands up for the troops.
