Wouldn't it be fantastic if...
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 07:09 PM by whometense
I know we said we'd do a picture thread, but I was just struck by this fantasy while we were eating supper, and I thought I'd share. It's evil, but I hope you'll all enjoy it.

The scene: Fort Bragg, the presidential podium set up in front of a backdrop of hundreds of perfectly dressed soldiers. The Emperor Who Wears No Clothes strides purposefully to center stage.

He starts to speak. At the first mention of how "Freedom is on the march" hundreds of perfectly dressed soldiers mob the stage from all directions, roaring their indignation at the top of their lungs. They proceed to beat up the lying scoundrel who's happy to use them as backdrop, but doesn't mind cutting their healthcare.

I'm not normally prone to violence, but see what he's done to me?? In an alternate scenario they might strap him to a chair and force feed him meat that is past its expiration date.

Feel free to indulge your own. I'll be here...until the Secret Service comes and knocks on my door, that is...

1. I'd be delighted if the soldiers
just started booing him loudly in the middle of his speech. And the networks let it go out over the broadcast without alteration. :D

2. I just saw that the county where Shrub is about to speak
is under a flash flood warning. Coincidence? I don't think so. SOMEBODY upstairs is pissed off!

3. You know what would be cool
If it started to rain intensely right as he started to speak - and they lost electricity. Bush wouldn't have a clue what to do.

5. He's not exactly getting mobbed by the soldiers
Maybe they are not allowed to show enthusiasm. (yeah, sure) Given the military band this is very somber.

6. Sigh! That would be nice
I keep thinking that one of the families of the KIAs will be allowed to speak after one of these 'photo-op' locations and will just ream the Idiot King over using the military as props in his PR campaign. It's just so indecent. He doesn't respect the troops or he wouldn't have cut the Veterans budget as badly as they have.

7. Well, I didn't get my wish,
but the sole-bit-of-applause-was-started-by-a-White-House-staffer part was truly a delightful surprise.

8. Wasn't it now!
The applause for our guy was genuine here on this forum. And talk about a captive audience. * is tanking and a lame duck.

And it was sooooo nice to see Kerry on Larry King. (He really does need to get out more and be on the national TV shows. It works so nicely for him.)

9. I'll take the same scene, except
They all throw rotten tomatoes, and then CNN et all replay it ENDLESSLY on TV for the next three days. Good enough for a Chickenhawk.

10. Rotten tomatoes
works for me, too. Only if looped endlessly, though. I just saw a few clips of the speech on the repeat cycle. He had a weird, frozen look on his face, like he knows something awful is happening, but he can't quite believe it.
