Pinch me, I must be dreaming!
John Kerry is all over the news today and this evening. I turned from one station to another and there he was, either giving his floor speech, or commenting on Bush's speech. I even heard his name come up in conversation several times in regards to the opinion piece in the NY Times today. On the McLerere (sp) News Hour on public broadcasting this evening, a panel discussed Kerry's piece in the Times also.
The ultimate appearance for me though, was the CNN Larry King segment. They put him on first, BEFORE JOHN MCCAIN, with the excuse he had another commitment. I think they did around 15 minutes with him and he was wonderful. John McCain was on later and was asked to respond to a reply Kerry had made to a question. (I'm sorry, I can't remember the exact question), but John McCain responded by referring to our John as his good friend and colleague,(really?) then went on to disagree with him-even though our John responded the same way as McCain. You got that? I'm confusing myself. What a great day-so much PR, and good PR at that.Comparing John Kerry and John Mccain, Kerry looked so much more presidential.

PS I didn't think much of Bush's speech. I found it boring and vague. He didn't say anything I haven't heard from him before and again bring up 9/11 at least four times.

1. Our John
I love that. Oh where was I? Oh. Yes, much more presidential than McCain, who looked rather old and sick. And what was that under McCain's eyes, cover stick? It looked white.

Our John looked like a big ol' cuddly teddy bear. :loveya:

6. It was mostly positive.
The Boston Globe columnist who likes Kerry was on the panel (Olehpante sp?). They referenced the Times opinion piece and said it laid out sensible, logical ideas. Oh, course one panelist had to somehow claim that President Bush had similar ideas. (News to me, what ideas has he implemented?)

10. Positive on Kerry?
Wow, what's up with that? I remember after this last "election" Bush was taking some of Kerry's ideas.

7. McCain was talking about Hagel when he said "my friend"
it would be interesting to see McCain and Hagel run against each other.

i kind of wish they had Kerry and McCain on together at the same time so they can respond to each other. only because i think Kerry would have done really great and made McCain look like a fool.

11. You're absolutely correct.
When I caught the rebroadcast, I realized I was wrong. This proves how easy it is sometimes to mishear something.
Thanks!

8. Yay!
Very nice! I'm watching his appearance on CNN now just him talking to some guy. So McCain disagreed with Kerry even though they said the same thing?! Oy! And they're supposed to be friends?? Uh huh, right. If they were friends McCain would've agreed with Kerry. Can't have that now can we? The speech was a bunch of crap.

12. I stand corrected on the McCain-Kerry reference.
Apparently, McCain was replying to a Hagel reference. Sorry for the misleading info. I was so excited about Kerry's various appearances today, I wasn't focusing to well.

13. I'm watching him on CSPAN2 now wow!
It's been awhile since I've seen him. Wish I could of seen him on Larry King.

Without him on TV standing up for us I rarely venture into the land of cable news nowadays haha.
