2. Which poll? I was talking about a thread on JK saying we don't |
|
have enough troops in Iraq by a poster who seems to want to start multiple threads everyday bitching about John.
You may be able to figure out who I'm talking about from my original post. ;-)
I was surprised to wake up and see him on the Today show. He is everywhere. Yippy!

4. This one. The drum beat continues. Someone really has a point |
|
to make and they will do it over and over again. It isn't the most egregious example I've seen but the repetitiveness of the attacks is tiresome. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3977123

5. You sucked me into responding to that one. |
|
First off, the quote was from Nedra Pickler, notorious * suckup queen, and author of countless AP wire stories slanted against Kerry.

10. It is interesting, given her background, that she portrayed JK as wanting |
|
more soldiers. I can only interpret it as a bizzarre attempt to place Kerry and other Democrats as more committed to a long, more intense war than Bush has. Interesting, in that it suggests she and others seeing it as a loser want to transition the Democrats to being perceived as more war like.
Having heard Kerry's talk, plus many other statements, I can see he is way out of context. I now wonder if Biden is similarly being taken out of context and distorted.
There is no way an honest person could listen to Kerry's speech and interept it as she did.

6. google the OP of that thread sometime |
|
he's all over the net. Bigtime Naderite, especially from before the election. Lots of stuff on Bill Maher's website.
Definitely has an agenda - trash Democrats. Trash Kerry at every opportunity. One of the most divisive people on the board -

17. Oh, that doesn't make any sense. |

* and Rumsfeld took us to war, not Kerry. I sometimes think that these people don't understand what war is or what the mistakes made actually were. Kerry, who has seen war up close and knows the awful beast in all it's blood-lust and fury, would not have taken this nation to war the way the *ies did. That is a simple and irrefutable fact. He didn't vote for the war, he voted to, in effect, allow the President to saber-rattle in order to get Hussein to allow weapons inspectors to look for the vaunted WMDs. That the Prez had different motiviations and outcome expectations is not Kerry's fault. (How could it be? That's just dumb.)
Rumsfeld believed (and still believes) that war can be more effectively waged through technology and that the awesome technological killing power of the United States military is enough to secure victory. Well, he is partially right. The extremely cold, efficient and mostly metallic power of the American military did secure a relatively fast victory. However, the cold technology of invasion is not suitable for peace-keeping or for fighting an insurgency. (It is one thing to plan the death of ground units of the enemy from afar when that enemy is identifiable. It is quite another thing to be ready for street fighting and house-to-house search and destroy missions. We do not have enough troops to accomplish that mission.)
I fail to see how people can blame this on Kerry. He knows that war is only to be used as a last resort. There is no such thing as a 'clean war.' In the 20th Century, it is estimated that 110 Million human beings lost their lives in warfare, of which approximately 70 million were civilians. Kerry saw this up close and personal and participated in it. He knows.

11. How do you put somebody on the ignorelist? |
|
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 11:46 AM by Mass
He is one of the two or three I have been wanting to ignore for a while now, but I did not find how to do that.
The fun thing is that they basically are supporting Rumsfeld, as most of the war opponents have been saying that they did not have enough troops to succeed (notwithstanding the validity of this war).
