Does anyone know if Vanessa Kerry is still in London? |

If so, I pray that she's safe. I feel so terrible for everyone who was killed or injured in the London bombings. Why do I feel just as angry at Bush as I do at al Queda for this? That's probably a really abnormal reaction on my part but I can't help it.
When he said "we are fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here" I guess he should have been a damn bit more specific about where "over there" was. If only we had gone after the people actually responsible for 9/11 in the first place maybe this could have been prevented. Dumbass.
Sorry for the brief rant.

at the end of next year. Nothing says loving like all fear all the time. I am waiting to see who this is attributed to and how it got pulled off. This was a sophisticated operation that was well-financed and had to have had some help in placing bombs in strategic places around London. (London is used to terrorism, due to the problems with Northern Ireland. It is not that easy to plants devises around this city.)
Vanessa Kerry is a Doctor. I'm sure that she was called into work to assist with the wounded. If she is anything like her Dad, I'm sure she calmly assessed her situation and went to work. What else do you do? Courage and help where help is needed and get on with your life.

2. From what I've seen the bombs were placed in back packs |

and left in the subway and set off by way of cell phones. (I'm not sure about the bus bombs - maybe the same way.) They are attributing it to al Queda. Apparently they have found one of the back packs that did not go off, and so they know what mechanisms were used. (I saw a picture somewhere - I think ABC.) I know London is more used to terrorism than we are - usually with the IRA though, they called in warnings so people could be evacuated. (That's certainly not to say that no one was ever killed in their bombings.)
I know that Vanessa will pitch in and help wherever possible - I was mainly just hoping she's okay and was not injured.

3. Unfortunately, our day will come again, too |

You can never be 100% safe from terrorists. It took al Qaeda 10 years to plan 9/11, and the quiet in the U.S. in the last 3 1/2 years shouldn't make us rest easy. When I think back to what Kerry said about Homeland Security in the campaign, I truly am scared at how unprepared we are for another attack. And with all eyes on Iraq, we fail to understand that the murder and mayhem there can come to our shores again.
Law of averages say Vanessa Kerry is fine, but since all phones are out, I'm not sure if it will be easy for her to communicate.

especially since our boarders are so widely open. I think we are unprepared and Bush does it on purpose.

Just last week * says we'll fight them there so we won't have to fight them here (translation: excuse us, Iraqis, while we trash your country.)
I guess the jihadists (I like Kerry's term for them) are multi-taskers.

7. Yes, good thoughts for Vanessa, everyone. |

There are lots of people to pray for after something as horrible as this, but she's one of them.
