Not related to John Kerry or politics but ...
does anyone else plan to see the remake of "Bad News Bears"? I LOVED that movie when I was a kid. Maybe just because I was younger and it was a simpler time in life when I had no idear what a Republican was. Ahhh, the good ole' days.

If it's not proper for a newbie to post a totaly non-political question here, please feel free to slap me about the head and face. Since we obviously have some baseball fans here, I thought I'd ask.

1. Yeah but I want to see the original first
I got some of it on HBO the other day and I liked it, I got in to baseball before I did politics and I think sports in particular baseball are really great.

2. I'd like to rent the original and see it again too
It's been a while. I think I loved it so much the first time because at the time, I was about the same age as the kids in the movie and I wanted to play baseball with the guys, but since I was a girl I had to stick with softball. (That was back in the day.)

4. I remember when I played baseball
Intially I had played in our neighboring town's league since I had after all gone to summer camp there and elementary school, so I did baseball there too until I was about 11, my first time playing in the league in my actual town which wasnt officially little league but called babe ruth, I believe its now called cal ripken, anyhow this pitcher I recall facing was a girl. Bad News Bears was a movie my dad always recommended to me as a kid when I lived and breathed baseball however I was more in to the Sandlot, the Major League series, and I had also enjoyed Angels In The Outfield and the funny thing was the sheets that one of the kids had in it were the same I had. Softball is fun btw though, my dad played catcher in little a mini league, him my uncles and some of my older cousins had.

5. I guess he shouldnt be a reliever huh
We're creeping up though I have to say even though I kinda wanted the Yanks to win for stragetic reasons, I felt bad seeing that they lost, what sucks about this week is that you guys will have already played by the time we start, we're in Seattle, way I look at it is, if we lost, I will hope Boston will have won, if we won, I will want the Yanks to have won so we can. I ideally want the Yanks to take 3 out of 4, in a super ideal world, I would want a tie though.

6. Well, Mussina was their best pitcher
and he kind sucked. Boston has better prospects for the next few games. (Since we are in front, we can absorb this loss. I just hope it's the only one.)

Doesn't Schilling have the proto-typical pitchers's body? Little pin legs and a big round middle. I haven't completely trusted him since after last year's World Series win and he betrayed me.

7. Thing about the Yanks is they always seem to come back
Like a scratch or sore that wont go away, hell even in the video games, its like that, I was simulating fooling around and I had to battle them for the wild card spot which they ultimately won and then they win the world series. I keep on playing them in games and they still get me, I just hope its not a prophecy for what could happen. If the O's dont make the playoffs, the last thing I Want is the Yanks making it or god forbid winning a world series :puke:, I want them to go through what Ive felt the past 8 years, of course you know after this year, they will get yet another big name. Sorry I am in my Yankee hating rant. Yeah Schilling is a GREAT big game pitcher but personally the man's an ass though that shouldnt be a reason to dislike the Red Sox because of him.

I've always been a Braves fan because growing up in the South I think it's required. Anyway, when I was a little kid we used to go to Atlanta Fulton Co. Stadium at least once a year to see the game, and I thought for the longest time that the ending of the National Anthem was "the land of the free and the home of the Braves", and that if we were to go somewhere else to see a game it would be "the land of the free and the home of the Reds" or whatever!

My favorite AL team is the Red Sox - I have a Red Sox "good luck travel hat" which I think I bought the year they played the Mets in the WS. (We won't rehash that one.) Anyway, since that time that hat has been everywhere that I go if it's for more than a day. Otherwise of course, the plane would crash or the car would run out of gas or something. And, not to suck up to Kleeb, but my favorite player is actually an Oriole - Javy Lopez. He was my favorite player as a Brave and I still love him (I have a thing for catchers).

10. I love Ortiz
and Veritek. But there is just something about Big Papi, I just love the guy. Maybe it's the happy spirit, the never-say-die attitude that gets me, but I just want to hug him.

12. Javy's injured sigh
He can be great when hes healthy as you know best. Javy should be back I think before the end of the month and hopefully before my birthday which is whoa 9 days. At least Bedard will be back soon I believe. Now about my fave players, this is odd since I am left handed and was a first baseman/outfielder/pitcher but Ive always been a big fan of shortstops, my childhood hero was Cal Ripken Jr, I love Miguel Tejada now, hes my favorite player, one of my favorite historical players is Honus Wanger, ok thats partially because of my great grandfather supposely being friends with him, old story told by my late grandmother, dont know if she was telling the truth or not. Ive ocme to like the Red Sox I guess, since though my team didnt suffer for 86 years, the past 8 years have been bad enough, and the fact theyre the Yankees prime rival, I frigging loathe the Yankees but not as much as I used to in part because I know the Orioles can beat them now.
