3. Things appear to be changing rapidly

I began referring to the successor blog when I stated receiving email when LUTD was shut down, as I informed people of the plans for a new blog.

4. To keep you people from stealing it behind my back

Despite the fact that I offered to give it to Pamela, repeatedly. She kept making excuses to refuse because she wanted her own blog to shut me out. I put it back up because somebody emailed me and thought they'd been banned, and you said it would be good for "resource purposes" and we shouldn't drag personal crap into it. Then you turned around and did.

Do we really want to do this here?

I have not dragged any personal crap into here.

People have been asking what happened to LUTD. After spending a lot of time answering email, I decided to post information here to make it easier to transmit to more people who would be interested.

I don't really care about what happened between you and Pamela (and probably most of the people here don't want to hear about it either). All I really know is that you shut down LUTD while Pamela was working on a new blog. From my perspective, any site which continues the work we did on LUTD is a successor blog.

Initially I thought you had reopened LUTD purely for access to archieved content, for which I am grateful. If you've now decided to keep LUTD open as an ongoing blog that's fine--there's room for plenty of blogs and no need for such hostility.

7. I am involved in aspects of this

If LUTD is not available, then I have to become involved in the developent of a successor site to post, to continue the work we started on LUTD.

I'm also involved when people are emailing me asking why they can't get on to LUTD, and saying how much they miss the site.

As for the initial disputes between you and Pamela, I have stayed out of that.

9. One small detail

You can't buy a domain and have it ping up within minutes, or even hours. Your supposed concern in creating a "successor site" because LUTD wasn't available is pure bullshit. Not to mention "whois" shows the domain was purchased Friday. LUTD being down had absolutely nothing to do with nothing, except my reaction to realizing I was being stabbed in the back.

My reference to the new site was after you shut down LUTD. Everything else is between you and Pamela and is not relevant to the notice I posted here.

2. For the record...

After being self-employed for 10 years, I've decided that it's easier for me to continue in that realm with my own blog.

http://www.thedemocraticdaily.com will be live in a few days with a different feel and format than LUTD. We'll be linking to LUTD and hope to create a mutualy supportive network with all of our friends in the blogosphere.

The time spent working with Sandy on LUTD was a great transition from the Kerry campaign. I'm realy grateful for that time there and all the support from everyone here.

Ron is joining me on TheDemocraticDaily and as TheDemocraticDaily grows I'll be inviting others to blog as well.

I'll continue to post Kerry news and items on a regular basis.

13. Got this via email

I've been on vacation, sorry if a re-post.

With Light Up The Darkness closing I wanted to keep members of the
Kerry Reference Library updated as to the plans. A new blog is under
construction, most likely to be located at http://www.thedemocraticdaily.com/
More information will be sent when the new blog is opened.

In the meantime, The Unofficial Kerry Blog (
http://kerryblog.blogspot.com )remains open and active. Today there
have been two new posts with Kerry news, an op-ed published over the
weekend written by John Edwards, and posts showing how George Bush is
creating more terrorists and health care policy. Over the weekend there were also posts on FBI surveillance of Bush Administration critics and further evidence of Rove lying about his role in the Plame scandal.

As was the case with LUTD for the past month, some of the items at the Unofficial Kerry Blog are also being cross posted at dembloggers.com

Of course the Kerry Reference Library also remains active, with the
full text of most of the articles mentioned above and many more articles added regularly than we blog about.
