Dear People formerly known as LUTD

I have come to care for all of you, as posters here on this group, as intelligent people that I look forward to interacting with, conversing with and occasionally arguing passionately with, and as fellow Kerry fans.

In brief, I like and respect you all. Whatever happened between and among you all is not my business. It is however, my concern. We cannot sustain a family fight in this group. We cannot choose up sides and we cannot be asked to interfere in personal disputes.

So, I am asking you, as a friend and as someone who respects your work and your opinions to kindly and with deepest respects to take it outside of this group.

I realize that I am overstepping my bounds as a regular poster on this group and that I speak for no one but myself. But I know that we all treasure our ability to get along in here and to resolve things with comity and with a deep nod to the friendship we have with people we disagree with from time to time. Nevertheless, please do not do this. It violates the spirit of this group and will discourage people from coming here.

2. Sorry this got messy here

I was simply trying to get out the message that hte work started on LUTD will continue after I received concerned email when LUTD closed down. Posting the contact information here appeared to be a good way to reach many people who would be interested. I had hoped it could have been left at such information, but . . .

And I, for one, welcome people postings the contact info and http addresses here. You guys have been amazing. I am sorry for whatever led to the breakup of LUTD. It will be missed.

But I cannot and will not respond to the personals. I like you all too much and it's none of my business anyway.

5. OK, what did I miss?

I saw some posts that LUTD has been taken down. But it sounds like there's also been some in-fighting and stomping-off by people in this group. Another site I post on has been going through some serious fighting and fracturing. I'm kinda cranky about that already, and I'm concerned about what may be happening here.

6. That is why we nip it in the bud now

I am but a humble poster in this here group. It is my opinion that the way to avoid fights of this sort is to acknowledge them, deal with them and and get them out of the way. And to hope and pray that everyone involved knows that you like them, respect them and won't tolerate the fight. Again, this is because we like this group, want it to stay around and want it to reflect a level of discourse that is welcoming to all, but demeaning to none.

Whatever happened is between the folks involved. Your humble poster knoweth not. And she means to keep on knowing not.

7. I don't know what happened at LUTD

It was only a place that I visited sometimes.. usually when it was referenced. But I second the motion that things stay peaceful here.

I love have a place to go with people who still support Kerry. I love it how there is light discussion in this group, with very few, if any,
negativity. I hope it stays that way.

My post on the other thread explains my decision fully. On my part there is nothing else to discuss here in the Kerry forum on DU about that decision. I'm reposting my post here and that will be the end of the discussion from me.

"After being self-employed for 10 years, I've decided that it's easier for me to continue in that realm with my own blog.

http://www.thedemocraticdaily.com will be live in a few days with a different feel and format than LUTD. We'll be linking to LUTD and hope to create a mutualy supportive network with all of our friends in the blogosphere.

The time spent working with Sandy on LUTD was a great transition from the Kerry campaign. I'm realy grateful for that time there and all the support from everyone here.

Ron is joining me on TheDemocraticDaily and as TheDemocraticDaily grows I'll be inviting others to blog as well."

I will be checking into the new blog. You have been an amazing and very welcome source of information and discussion in this group and on DU as a whole. I wish you every success going forward, here and in your business.

You have my deepest appreciation for your understanding of the intent of this thread. I only 'intervened' because I would hate to see this damage this group and would hate even more to see it damage people I have come to care for and that I like.

We have all been through painful separations in our personal and business lives. My deepest sympathies to you all. I hope this ends up working out for all of you and that your new endeavors thrive and grow.

11. Guess I'll weigh in.

I've really enjoyed what was happening at LUTD, not just for the information itself but for what I saw as the spirit of the site. I'm really saddened that this conflict has happened; selfishly, because I don't know and don't want to know who did what when to whom, so all I know is that I'm going to miss what it was.

That said, I've always appreciated the different insights offered by Sandy, Ron, and Pamela, not just at LUTD but here and also at dkos and others. I selfishly hope to continue to benefit from the insights of all three of you, and I hope the community does too.

I'm still a relative newbie here, but I think maybe I speak for others here when I say:

Please get over whatever it is, because we need you. All of you.
