In case there are any Kerry staffers checking in... |

I'd like to say that I REALLY wish Kerry would go on Ed Schultz's show. Ed himself is a blustering blowhard, and is hard on Kerry and at this point a big Hillary booster. But he's got a huge audience of moderate dem types.
What I've noticed is that he treats the democrats who come on his show with respect, and that he tends to become a booster if he likes them. It seems to me that the skill set Kerry had to use with Imus would be equally useful with Ed Schultz. It would be a great avenue for talking to those "meat-eatin', gun-totin' liberals" he speaks for. He likes people who speak their mind.
I know a lot of DUers hate Schultz - they question whether he's really a democrat, etc. That's actually an argument in his favor. He's not particularly my cup of tea, but he attracts the guys who are actually pretty libertarian and probably would lean dem if it weren't for the fact that they see liberals as wussy.
So, if any Kerry people are reading this, please consider. I know he's not doing any national media right now, but I'm convinced this would be a good move for him when he's ready.

1. I wonder if anyone does read this from Kerry's office. |
|
That's kind of a scary thought and a great thought at the same time. (Hey, check in, identify yourself. Say Hi already. We don't bite, that's GD.)
I wish Kerry would go on The Daily Show again. I think he still has a lot of fans and he could show the sense of humor.
Actually more maintream media exposure in general would be nice. I don't mind Ed Schultz, but he is entranced with Hillary right now. (It's the 'I can win' vibe that, 3 years out, is on her. We shall see if that survives her Senate race next year. The Rethugs are not going to roll over for that race and are fielding two candidates in their primary. They should get a lot of press and money. We shall see what happens from that.)

Kerry media appearances I can get.
The Daily Show would be great.
Schultz is enamored of Hillary right now, but he was tough on her today for not coming out loudly in support of Cindy Sheehan.

3. I've been wishing he'd do The Daily Show again too. |
|
I thought he did a great job last time he was on, I don't care what anyone says. TDS has had Man-On-Dog and Joe Biden as recent guest, so why not Kerry?
I thought it was funny a few nights ago when they did their first installment of Indecision 2008 - kind of made me wonder if THEY read DU as obsessed with '08 as people are around here. (Not in this group, but in general.)

4. I would like to see him appear again also. |
|
He could bring up and joke about some of the jabs Stewart has taken at him since the election.
