Latest kerry information about the lawsuit innuendos
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 05:59 PM by ray of light
I'm going to get flamed for posting this in G.D. but its the newest info about the "lawsuits". Any helpers? This came from a very reliable source!

Kerry conceded because he lost the popular vote, and with that, the ability to legitimately/politically ask for an immediate recount.

He never intended to NOT investigate the vote, particularly in Ohio. But I saw the email from his campaign manager in Ohio--the one that said there was no evidence of outright fraud AT THAT TIME.

No one sat around--there was a huge amount of investigation--and much has come to light over time.

I understand that, had they been able to get anyone to come forward with proof, they would have called for an investigation before the vote was certified in January.

I also understand that John Kerry has supported the investigation of all legitimate concerns about the 2004 elections. He knows what happened.

There were, apparently, three lawsuits in Ohio. The one that PDA is asking people to complain about is the first--the Badnarik-Green lawsuit. It is not a strong case. Lawyers have advised that this one is not winnable.

There are TWO MORE LAWSUITS and THEY are going forward. The second and third lawsuits are, according to my sources, based more on the civil rights issues and Kerry-Edwards are indeed part of these suits.

It is also my understanding that more evidence has come out, and perhaps, some testimonials from observers within the state, with evidence. Ohio is not over. And John Kerry has not stopped fighting.

He never has and he won't. He is a quiet warrior, but he is a warrior.

You can take that to the bank--

1. Thanks.
Terrific post. And I agree with you 100%. No one who really understands who John Kerry is would think for an instant that he has any intention of quitting. And if it looks like quitting it's only a temporary strategic withdrawal.

Out there they refuse to see who Kerry is. That's their great loss.

2. I agree!
We've run circles around the same argument. And I don't get it. EVERYONE on earth saw Gore get "gored" in 2000 by the media--and yet they think that is the better strategy than going undercover! (yeh, right!)

6. Some folks love a show of fight, even a futile one
They have to see action to believe something is happening. I personally don't need the dog and pony show to know Kerry is fighting for us. This is a very good man.

3. Thanks this really makes a lot of sense
It would make no sense for Kerry to stay in a weak lawsuit when there are two stronger ones, especially if the weak one would come up first. If he did participate and lose (as his lawyers predict), when the others suits are tried there will be conservatives everywhere claiming he already fought this and lost ... he's delusional ... (which judging from the other times they called him this it means "he's right)

As it is probably not possible to overturn the election, it might be that they want to use the other two civil rights based ones to get real reform for 2006 and 2008 and possibly go after some of the people (Blackwell) who were involved. If he can get Blackwell, that might act as a deterent towards election fraud in the future. (I still don't understand why Harris is in Congress not in jail.)

5. Yes, I agree. None- the- less I wrote my note of encouragement to JK
Here it is:

Honorable Senator John Kerry, 8-18-05

How I wish I could title this --- Dear Mr. President. Well, you are the President in my heart and mind. I appreciate all your continuing hard work fighting for our democracy everyday in Congress. Hope you enjoyed or are enjoying your vacation in Ketchum, Idaho. Do you still fly hang gliders or have you done any more paragliding? Paragliding is one of my favorite outdoor pursuits. Haven’t flown in Idaho yet, but must sometime soon.

Anyway, I digress. It has come to my attention that you may be thinking of withdrawing from the Ohio recount case, which is pending in federal court. A move that would come as Federal Judge Carr in Toledo prepares to hold a status conference on August 30 on this case, along with two other pending voting rights cases.

I hope that this is just a rumor. I'm writing to encourage you to hang in there and never give up. Do not pull out. You said you have our backs and in turn we have your back. That is a commitment that neither of us can break.

I have a signed copy of the book by Bob Fitrakis --- “Did George W. Bush Steal America’s 2004 Election? Essential Documents” (741 pages). I’m sure you are aware of this book full of evidence and articles that is phone-book in size, with the preface by Rev. Jesse Jackson. The book also includes “The Conyers Report.”

I spoke with Bob in person at a talk he gave here in San Diego, and he said he talked with you over the phone sometime after the election, but sometime after they were already finding plenty of evidence of a corrupt and fraudulent election. He said you listened to everything he had to say, and then eventually acknowledged there does seem to be discrepancies, and that you had made a comment about the unseemingly electronic voting anomalies in New Mexico. And your wife Mrs. Heinz has also made a comment in public and on the record concerning and alluding to election fraud in 2004.

I think we all know. The statistical studies that have been done by multiple parties show using exit poll data that Bush did not win. One of the reasons that Bob Fitrakis et al., have published this book is to put the evidence before the people, since the courts in so many ways have stonewalled or stalled any meaningful investigation. One of the more eye-opening confessions came to Bob after the book had already gone to press. He told all of us listening to his book talk in San Diego, that he was in direct communication with a Diebold technician that had come to him and said that he was the one that installed the two-way communication to the central tabulator in Ohio from SOS Kenneth Blackwell’s office. However, this witness would not go on record unless the case goes before a court of law. Bob said there were others, but that they were not so willing talk as this technician is.

The Republicans are at it again here in San Diego with our Mayoral race. A parallel election (a step above an exit poll), has now demonstrated that there is a statistically improbable 4% swing in the vote to the republican candidate. And a greater number of the precincts doing the parallel vote were republican!

Please do not give up the fight. With everything now currently happening in the news with Ohio, hold-on. Without our right to a free and fair election nation wide (which needs to include Voter Verified Paper Ballots as the original record of vote and to be used incase of recounts), our democracy is dead. Our vote is all we have. If they take that away, as it seems they have, we have nothing.
No one can be so naïve any longer about election fraud and corruption. It is now the Republican game of choice. A crime game of suppression, and it must stop. It must stop no matter who carries it out.

Sincerely,

Klimmer

8. Thank You
I knew deep in my gut that this was going on. Also just a bit of advice don't bother answering to a certain poster, it will get you nowhere. She hates Kerry because he beat Dean, that is her only train of thought.

Thank you again. :patriot:

11. Thanks ray of light and KG
I e-mailed Kerry a nice, but brief letter telling him and Edwards not to give up on this.

Don't stress over that other guy at the bottom of the thread. He/she has always been a Kerry basher. (Thanks emu).

:hi: :yourock:

9. KG & Ray: Nice work!
And thanks for sharing this. We were kind of blindsided by this letter and there were legitimate questions as to why it came out in the way it did. Thanks for answering them.

I went to the FEC site and looked up some of the expenditures from the GELAC account. I saw that they still have people on salary and still have a big law firm on retainer (at least I think it's retainer. The amount of monthly money being paid out is pretty small for a lawfirm.) Anyway, it seems to me like GELAC is still active.

Thanks again!

10. Thank you so much for posting this Ray of Light
Your post really helps to clarify what is going on why. I never once believed that John Kerry was abandoning the fight - it's not always appropriate to carry out the fight in public however, and this is certainly one of those cases. I think a public battle would do more harm than good right now in a nation already under great deal of stress.

I wish you would post this in GD-P (if you haven't already). I think the way you broke it down it's simple enough for most people to understand (although I'm sure some flames would be thrown). Thanks again for posting.
