Romney story for the Mass. people here
Romney plays 'Hardball' on gay marriage, 2008
Mass. governor discusses civil unions and presidential front-runners

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9086489

A year and-a-half ago, the Massachusetts Supreme Court legalized gay marriage in the state, igniting a national debate on the definition of marriage in America. On Thursday, legislators in Massachusetts voted to hold a constitutional convention next month to consider civil unions.

But is it just about changing the name?

Republican Mitt Romney, the governor of Massachusetts, joined Chris Matthews on Thursday to discuss the issue and his prospective candidacy for the 2008 Republican nomination.

1. Did Romney go to the W school of language and logic?
Aside from being a homophone, there are sentences that I can't even begin to parse logically. (Matthews was actually funny when he was making up new words for gay marriage or civil unions)

I especially liked:

marriage is a relationship preserved for a man and a woman.

The following certainly sets unreasonable expectations:

Well, I win by a landslide in Massachusetts if I run for reelection. And that's very possibly what I'm going to do.

2. Mittens is so full of shit
Truth is, he's not going to run for reelection in MA because he'd LOSE in a big way. Gay marriage has become no big deal in MA, and Mittens is all cranky about it. He is wa-a-ay out of the mainstream for this state, and everyone here knows it now.

3. After yesterday and today's decision from the BRAC, all I hope is that he
runs.

He was already tied with Patrick in the polls and way behind Reilley. If he cant even maintain the Massachusetts basis, he has no chances.

4. Romney is a liar
He ran as a social moderate and is now a Rethug. Yuck.

Gay Marriag is a done deal in MA. It came in, nothing bad at all happened, it seemed like all other marriages and people consider it over. The issue is over. I don't think that Constitutional Amendment is going to get on the ballot. The Civil Unions bill just barely passed last time and the opposition lost 3 seats in the House.

And, in a side note, I really hope Sen. Kerry doesn't get dragged into this again. He doesn't believe in Gay Marriage, but he also has said that he won't activiely oppose it. I'm fine with that.

5. Have you read this one? Romney predicts 'landslide' reelection
Is it possible Mitt has already made his mind not to run again? Or is he totally dillusional?

Forecast with a catch: That's if he runs again

6. I'll go with delusional on this one
Mittens will lose in a landslide if he runs for governor again. He's pissing off the locals as he burnishes his conservative rethug credential for a presidential run. And I'm pretty sure he has little-to-no-chance of winning a presidential race.
