I've been in a very 1971 frame of mind recently.

The cow is having an aneurysm, obviously. Look at that terrified eye. And Sen. Kerry looks like he's picking out dinner. (I really love the man, but this photo is a hoot, and it looks like he's deciding which cut of beef he wants, whilst he can still see it upright.)

Funny pic. Why do Presidential candidates go to State Fairs? They result in the most ridiculous pictures. What are you supposed to say, "Wow, nice cow! That reminds me of a funny story about trade relations with China. No, really, it does."

Damn, what a way to pic a President. They have to go hang out with barnyard animals. (Well, at least Sen. Kerry is used to this. He has to serve with Santorum. Ba-dum bum.)

56. I love that tight little smile
It's half confidence and half, I don't know, dare or something. Then again, it could be a suppresion of disbelief considering how poorly That Friggin Idiot did in those debates. I wonder how Kerry managed to not laugh when * asked someone, "You want some wood?" I was on the floor.

I love this pic. It's that one single expression that we never had in a photo in this group. It's a classic Kerry expression.

U.S. Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry claps at rally
U.S. Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry claps at a rally next to a pumpkin carved with the stars and stripes in Tampa, Florida October 31, 2004. With just two days to go in the 2004 presidential campaign, Kerry and U.S. President George begin a frantic sprint to the finish as polls show the race for the White House remains too close to call.
