Why does it seem some people have SO much fun tearing Kerry a new one when ANYTHING happens ANYWHERE. Bush shits on the country, and it's "fuck the Dems for letting Bush shit on the country!" WTF? Is it really lefty freeps or is it deep cover trolls? I don't get it. I come to DU to talk to sane people, but some days it seems 50% of them aren't.

Anything, thanks all you sane people in our safe little room for keeping me from leaving altogether. I should know better than to even read those threads.

Troll Police

I know there has been an outpouring of trolls. I can't monitor all the threads so hear me now. I'm banning anyone that uses different names in the same thread, or imitates someone else. I want everyone to dial down the abusive language please and email me if you see stuff going on. Differences of opinion are fine, but the level of insanity is getting out of hand. Writing "I want to kill" somebody will get you booted off the site.

2. It is nutty. Honestly, I think I'm becoming more and more

in favor of that blue paint thing. It might work, it might not, but it would at least focus attention on something real.

Liberals are seeing their worst possible nightmares come true in this Gulfport disaster. It is everything that we all hoped and prayed wouldn't happen. Live and on TV. There are bound to be off-the-scale reactions.

This too shall pass or at least lessen in the next week. Then we can move on to bashing the hell out of people for something else. Sigh!

5. What's the blue paint thing? (Forgive my ignorance)

The only thing I could think of was the thread from the other night that had John ascending wearing nothing but blue body paint. Just for the record, I'm in favor of that!

On a more serious note, I'm staying out of GD tonight. The aftermath of this storm has gotten me so angry and upset (like I know it has everyone here) I just don't think I can handle too much more. Spending time in DU, you'd think that the entire country has gone insane, yet in the "real world" people are still carrying on with their day to day lives (even though I know they must care). This entire week has been simply surreal.

8. I always overreact when someone swears at me

Or rather, swears in my general direction and pretends they're not swearing at me, using all caps and "fucking" as an adjective to describe something in my post. Why don't they just say "fuck you" like an honest person? Then at least I could alert on them. Instead, I sink to their level. Sigh indeed.

Must learn to ignore. (And must learn to read my own posts...lol..."Anything" in the original post was supposed to be "Anyway." But you all probably gathered that.) :)

And the GD is a terrible mean spiteful place tonight. They get angry at Bush and Co and the Republicans but they take it out on their "team mates".

I don't get into the "left", DLC, blah blah blah...what does it matter? "I'm true to my principles, and if republicans keep winning at least I'll be true to my principles."

excuse me...but yeah, right! Principles means getting rid of those who have no principles.

i don't think you are a true liberal if your first response to these things are to bash Democrats and repeat the same rants on the dlc.

and i wouldn't worry about what those who don't want to give money to victims of the hurricane unless they are a Dem think. in fact it makes me think higher of the Dems that these people don't like.
