Kerry's coming to my county on Saturday

Mass mentioned that Kerry was coming to NJ on Saturday. I was shocked when I checked my email that he is coming to a town 15 minutes away - where mu youngest goes to high school. They had an rsvp - so I signed my husband and myself up. I am so excited I've had to rewrite each word to get rid of strange extra letters.

What's funny is they must be trying hard to reach the local people, because I just got one of the robot calls - from Kerry with the same information. Very Very cool. It's actually a free event

8. He has 3 events in NJ , so I really suspect that

he will probably endorse Corzine and say a few things then leave. I'm just glad for the opportunity to see him.

That's great you get to see him. If for some reason you get to talk to him face to face, tell him that his e-mails do make a difference and give us hope. And that we are following what he is up to, and thank him very much for his hard work!!!

11. Funny - that is probably what I would say - especially right after

the election it was true. Losing the hope of a wonderful President was hard - and things did look really hopeless. I actualy will be very surprised if he has time to shake hands of talk to individuals. Morristown is the last of his three stops - the others have to be pretty short given the time schedule.

It's in a very old building, that is now a restaurant that is supposedly haunted by a ghost - from colonial times. The typically awful story is:

Morristown lore has it that a crazed hired hand bludgeoned three people to death when the spot was a private house, Judge Samuel Sayre, his wife Sara and their maid, Phoebe.

Phoebe, it appears, was reluctant to take herself off to her final reward, and to this day causes mischief.

The room in which she was murdered, regardless of attempts to control the temperature, remains eerily cold, or so they say, and once during a banquet a punch bowl sitting undisturbed on a banquet table mysteriously exploded.

Phoebe's murderer, one Antoine Le Blanc, was caught, hanged and dissected for medical research.

He was eventually buried in town, where I suppose he rests in pieces.


In more recent, more Kerry relevant events - Jockey Hollow in Morristown (where Washington and his men stayed for two winters) was the start of a march to Valley Forge. At Valley Forge, Kerry spoke to an anti-war crowd on Labor Day, 1970. (This was where Jane Fonda spoke too).

I'm so glad that you and your husband will be able to go! Please let us know all about it when you return home on Saturday. I'll definitely post what he has to say - which I suspect will mostly be about Corzine. We'll try to get close enough to take some pictures. Hopefully the zoom will be good enough to get a picture. (It's not a very powerful zoom)

I imagine it will be great - as one of those who watch Senate voting - and finds it interesting, this has to be great. Now I don't have to be jealous of my swing state siblings!

But I missed Al Gore on Tuesday. I got sidetracked with Katrina and just flat forgot about it. After I complain and complain that nothing ever happens in Oregon. Aargh.
