Hey, KG? Is Sen. Kerry speaking tomorrow on the floor |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 08:32 PM by TayTay
I was just wondering. Today's speech was pointed and direct to the legislation he and Sen. Landreiu had introduced on the Commerce bill. Tomorrow, That Friggin Idiot is giving a speech to the nation and Sen. Kerry has tended to be public on nights when The Idiot speaks to the nation. (Heaven help us! I hope he can make it through the speech without a bathroom break.)

The vote will be tomorrow -- how does it look? The usual games are being played, I am told.
Actually I think it would be grand if the fool pee'd his pants on national tv!

2. It seems like such a basic piece of good legislation |

that you wonder how anyone with an ounce of commone sense can vote against it. But, then again, common sense and Rethugs don't know each other. Sigh! I hope it passes. The bill to ask the GAO to investigate windfall profits on oil companies looked like it was going to pass. Rethugs are afraid to not vote for that one.
This is an attachment to the Commerce, Justice and TEchnology budget bill, right? So, it goes up or down tomorrow or Friday, I think. I got my fingers crossed.
To track it on the Seante site: S.AMDT.1695 Amends: H.R.2862 Sponsor: Sen Kerry, John F. (submitted 9/13/2005) AMENDMENT PURPOSE: Purpose will be available when the amendment is proposed for consideration. See Congressional Record for text.
TEXT OF AMENDMENT AS SUBMITTED: CR S9990-9992
COSPONSORS(2):
Sen Landrieu, Mary L. - 9/13/2005 Sen Kennedy, Edward M. - 9/13/2005
The text will be up tomorrow on the Congressional Record.

I mean, 4% loans with the ability to refi existing debt, isn't that the basic content? If they vote this down, we have no chance of passing anything meaningful. I think it's close to perfect in the sense that there's no rational defense for anyone who votes against. Do you think there's a chance it will be defeated?
JMHO.

Judd Gregg is looking at every amendment as if it will result in the 'end of life as we know it.' (I can't stand him. He always looks like he's been sucking on lemons.) Besides, theAdmin probably has all the SBA money already spent on Social SEcurity: The NExt Generation Tour. I wouldn't put it past them.
That said, I think it has a decent shot. It's not like we're asking them to investigate something, right?

5. I hope and pray that it passes. |

I'm sure his intent is to get small biz back on their feet so the people of LA, AL and MS have jobs to go back to, but just one small victory would be so sweet right now. Hope for the victims of Katrina, and the added benefit of a little hope for the rest of us, too. It seems like it's been so long. If it happens, I'm partying.
