I think people are finally getting sick of the Republican slurs

Mass led me to an editorial in my own local paper that quoted very extensively from an email sent by one of our Republican assembly men that sounded like he thought Free Republic type speech was appropriate. He was commenting on his view that Kerry, referred to very disrespectfully as Lurch, couldn't help the Democrats. He made all the usual charges, ending by say that men should lock up the women (especially rich ones).

I've been watching the LTTE and they are very interesting, there have been 3 condemming the assemblyman - all from people in the county. Two balancing LTTE, essentially saying some Democrat somewhere said Bush looked like a monkey (the other mentioned comparisons to Hilter and Stalin) One was from NEBRASKA, the other from MICHIGAN. The good LTTE today, points out that the assembly man is also implying that men own woman.

This is likely to help the Democrats - though we are extremely outnumbered.

1. Your lips to Gawd's ear.

I saw a few snarky letters in the Lowell Sun. One genius repeated Howie (I don't live in MA, I just criticize here' Carr's obnoxious rant aobut Kerry and Kennedy taking in evacuees. Another LTTE asked if Howie or Severin or any of the other local hate-mongerers had sent in a donation or opened their homes to evacuees and praised Kerry.

I know, I know, It's Ma. But it's the snarky, conservative part of MA. (Granted this doesn't make us Oklahoma, but still.)

2. I know they're out there,

even in MA, but after watching some c-span this morning, it looks to me like finally economic issues are starting to take hold with the lower and lower-middle income people. When you can't afford gas and you lose faith that your government gives a damn about what happens to you, maybe those wedge issues don't look so important?

3. I think it's shame

Our government was paralyzed to do anything for 5 days. While the south is just anti-government, the freep types are more USA #1 USA. It had to be quite humiliating for them to watch their trillion dollar military be unable to do anything because of the incompetence of the CiC.

Not to mention, Bush has made white people look bad. Somehow they seem to think saying Republicans ignore poor people, not black people, is helpful. Maybe temporarily, but not in the long run. Either way, the curtain has been pulled back and there they are, with air conditioning and steak while the masses are eating soylent green.

Nobody is happy in this scenario.
