So, Kerry's b-day isn't until december, |
|
but I was thinking maybe we could send him a group card. We could ship it all over the country and all of us Kerry fans could sign it. I'm not sure exactly how it would work out, but it would take awhile, so if anyone wants to do it...we would need to start planning now. Just trying to think of a way to show him some love...:loveya: Does anyone want to?

I imagine whoever has the card would have to pm the next person for his/her address. I have no prob with that, provided it's regular JK Forum posters.

I'll sign it! It would probably be a good idea to rotate it regionally, all the folks in the NE sign it then down to VA (or wherever), etc., etc. (That's just my thinking anyway.)

I had a thought, but first, I'm one of those in NE.!! Since I'm one of the newbies, why don't you Veterans choose someone with the most seniority, or who is the closest to Kerry personally, then we can all PM our names and addresses to that one person? TAY TAY comes to my mind, but that's up to y'all! I guess we'll all have to be very careful about verbalizing our "FANTASIES" here if his bro. (or maybe himself!!) starts reading our posts! I'm already embarrassed by just the thought of it!!! EDIT upon re-read Step Son!! Oh my God that's even worse! I'm about to crawl under a rock!! I bet you all one thing; we are all on his email list, so if he ever reads that, he ( JK ) may recognize some of our names!!

This way I can listen as I write, but every now and then I run in to see what's going on! Pretty soon I have to take my baby boy out for a walk! Hope I don't miss too many of my favorites. Be back soon!! Wish I had a laptop, then I could do both TV and DU at the same time, instead of back and forth btween the office and the LR!

Louisianna! Just as it already happened once before. History repeating itself! I didn't realize that it was written by Randy Newmann!! He sang it himself on the telethon fundraiser last week. I called in a pledge to the Salvation Army and guess who answered my call? Yep~ Randy Newmann! I was so thrilled! Gotta go for real now. Dog is begging to out for his walk!

We once did it in a fan group for a certain actor. It actually wasn't just a card but a whole birthday book that we shipped all over the world to all his fans in the group, and he was really touched when he received it.
Well... I guess you won't be able to send the card to Europe? :-(

That way we get the farthest post office location out of the way first. Then you could send it west to New England and then we cold go from there.
I love this idea. I have a huge card store near me. I could go look/see what they have.

Anything made by one person is better than store bought. You can send it to me and then I will forward to another Mass person and so on and so on. (Or, should another Mass person want to go first, I will take my place in the chain. Either way, it's all good.)
I love this idea!

Maybe Vektor could include a PG rated haiku.

Kery afficionado should start something regarding how many people want to sign? Do we need one card, or 5? That is also DU-able! Might also be easier, given the disparity of people who love Senator Kerry!

30. Okay, here's an idea. I need broad comments |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-18-05 04:17 PM by babylonsister
that are simple enough so everyone can agree if I want to get this done today. When is JK's birthday again? And will one card suffice? It's early enough we could get it around the country by December. Front:
May The Road Rise To Meet You (picture or cartoon of someone bicycling)
May The Wind Be Always At Your Back (picture or cartoon of someone sailing, skippering, or windsurfing)
The rest of this Irish blessing is:
May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
This part wouldn't have to be used, or can be put inside card on the left.
Inside right of card:
Happy Birthday Wishes, Senator Kerry, from some of your many fans at www.democraticunderground.com
Thanks to you, we have met from all over the globe. All of us want you to know that WE HAVE YOUR BACK!
Signed name/DUname/City/State, or whatever you're comfortable with.
Let me know, or if someone comes up with something better, that's okay, too. Also, I could throw a haiku in there, if Vektor wants to provide one (though I'm not sure about a 'special lover's one:) ).
Edit for clarity

Only thing I would like to add is something about how our little group here still believes that there is no one else that we would like to see lead our nation back to its roots (bring us back to reality / bring our country back)... or something along those lines.
On edit - It needs to be signed "The Kerrycrats" and then we can all sign below.

This is a great idear.
Are we doing this for his birthday or just because we are his biggest fans?
I don't care if Kerry read what we wrote about him in this forum. He would be flattered. It would be a huge boost for the ego.
Senator Kerry - if you are reading: Not only are you my favorite politician, you are also one handsome hunk of a man! A very lethal combination.

|
on DU? Because there are obviously a lot of Kerry flamers in that GD world that many of you visit. I'm not sure how to put it, like from the John Kerry Discussion Forum on democraticunderground.com sounds too long and formal, but I do feel like that this is a unique phenomenon, that in many ways is quite apart from the rest of the website. Any ideas on that, or do you think that is getting too detailed? It's just we're approaching 50,000 posts. This thing is big, don't you think?
I love the Irish blessing, and I'm in on signing it. Great idea!
