Alexandra Kerry gets Hollywood movie to direct |
|
The 32-year-old film graduate, whose 90-minute documentary on her father's failed presidential campaign will be screened at festivals in the autumn, is to direct her first feature film, My French Movie.
"It's a kind of fish-out-of-water romantic comedy,'' I'm told. "The main character is an American girl called Violet who goes to live with her mad Hicksville extended family abroad where she falls in love with all sorts of different men.''
Kerry has indicated that she wants Kevin Kline and Julie Delpy to star in the Hollywood film, and has employed the services of a pal to write the screenplay.
"I've got all the images in my head but I've asked a friend of mine - Erica Beeney - to write the dialogue,'' she says

What's not to love. A hollywood movie, geez, it's nice to be associated with Hollywood, eh? And calling it "My French Movie." Wow! I, ahm, love that.
Seriously, congrats. It's nice to see a woman advancing in that industry.

Good for her. I can't wait to see her documentary, though. ;-) I expect it will contain LOTS of catnip.

2. I'm looking forward to it |

I guess this family in the movie will come to France? I wonder if they will film part of it in France then. Sounds really interesting. I love Julie Delpy. She is a great actress!
And I hope her Kerry campaign documentary will soon be available on DVD. If not I will never get a chance to watch it. :-(

3. I really want to see the campaign documentary |
|
90 minutes of campaign stuff from a perspective we are likely to see as extremely fair and unbiased. :) It will be interesting to see what she does.
The movie sounds cute. Weren't the Thornes from Long Island and I guess both the Thornes and the Forbes had extended families overseas.

Kerry has alot to be proud of! Both of his daughters turned out great. Intellegent and beautiful. Hmmmm - wonder where they got that from?

8. Gee, they make news for good things like: |
|
making movies, winning prestigious scholarships, studying medicine at Harvard, and running in the Boston Marathon. They also seem to have a great relationship with their dad.
How do you explain that EVERY child of George and Jeb Bush has been arrested and they seem to make news only when they announce jobs that seem to not really materialize or when they're drinking.
Family values?

I'm glad to hear more out of her. At least she isn't like some people and go out and do nothing but partying. Hopefully it'll be on the Sundance channel or something!

7. I'll keep an eye out for this. |

Maybe Alexandra Kerry would do the rounds of the repertory theaters or something -- the nonprofit Avalon in D.C., for example -- once her movie is completed.
Every family needs a creative type to keep things humming. :-)
