Back from vacation - found Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker heaven!
I think I found perhaps the largest concentration of Kerry/Edwards, Kerry and/or Democratic bumper stickers any where. I've been chillin' on another (very small) NC island for the past week and during that time I must have seen at least 15 - 20 bumper stickers for the good guys, compared to 2 - 3 for the bad guys. Now part of the reason for this is probably because the folks who live on this island are DEFINITELY on island time and probably just haven't gotten around to removing them yet, but still, it did my heart good!

I see I have a lot of reading to catch up on. Looking forward to doing that when I can concentrate better. I'm also looking forward to reading "the speech". I received the e-mail but haven't read it yet. From the posts here it sounds like it was quite incredible!

Hope everyone here had a great week!

1. Welcome back!
I'm glad your vacation was good and restful. And I'm really gald to hear about the bumper stickers.

That was a great speech, a real barnburner. You can tell because of the folks who immediately tried to marginalize it and criticize Kerry for making it. LOL!

2. welcome back
just got back myself. I was gone six days and got back Tuesday night, logged in on Wednesday again, so I'm just now all caught up.

I was glad to see * still sinking, sinking in the muck of Katrina (approval ratings) even though he gave his Cinderella Castle speech (well it looked like he was standing in front of it,didn't he). After that he sank even lower on how he handled the disaster, to a low of 32%. Check out this cool cover from The Nation:

Kerry gave a good speech on Monday which I just read and re-read--very good. I think he remains pretty popular despite what most of DU seems to think of him.

Those are the main highlights I gleaned from my catching-up.

3. Thanks for hitting the weeks highlights
I'm just starting to catch up. I just read Kerry's Brown speech. (I'll have to re-read it tomorrow for sure.) That was pretty incredible. There was definitely a hint of "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" in it (or so it seemed to me). I take it that not everyone in DU was happy with the speech? I don't know if I have the stomach to read what those bozos have to say about it. Glad to have a nice safe place to come back to here in the Kerry group!
