Hey kids,
I thought you might like to see this...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2118231

It's got a link to a preview of "Inside the Bubble." Sorry if it's been posted in here already. I did kind of a rudimentary search, and didn't see it.

1. Ahm, it looked ahm, underwhelming
but kind of cute. And my favorite staffer besides MArvin was still there, swearing like a Masshole.

Eh? This was supposed to do damage? How? It's kinda cute.

2. Listen at the comment the movie author makes about the SB
This explains a lot.

3. I was wondering who that guy was -
he prattles on also about how it's the campaign team's job to control the NYTimes (or something like that). The SBVet remark does give the game away.

It also clear that he's trying to create a divide between Clinton and Kerry with the shot of Hilary. I rolled my eyes at the "Got any wood remark, too".

It's a right wing smear job all the way, or at least an attempt at one...

4. Well, based on the previews
they did a piss poor job of it. Then again, I wasn't listening to the commentary. I liked the visuals. (Well, I am LLL, you know.)

7. No, even with the commentary
it was MILD - unless they're holding back something, they've got NOTHING.

8. No, there does not seem to be anything bad
It is more the apparent bias to characterize something really normal as ridiculous.

I liked the clip with Kerry. It shows the patience of the man, waiting for an interview who does not come. Some other ones would be yelling at their aids during this period.

10. I thought it was delightful.
He was calm, funny, and kind of gently mocking the whole process. The comment about the locker room was pretty funny too.

13. I can't wait to see Alex's film
if this attempt to smear shows a pretty likable guy, her film should be great. (The media has a lot to answer for: In an annoying situation, Kerry is "calm, funny and is gently mocking the whole process" but he's not likable. The guy they said was personable and a regular guy is now shown to be so petulant and nasty, his staff puts off for a day or two telling him how bad the situation in NO is. )

5. How did that guy get behind the scenes access
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 03:44 PM by TayTay
All the wrong people get behind the scenes access. Why can't Vektor and WEL and some of us get Behind the Scenes Access.

(What? She did? Banned? Really? Awh fuck! Okay, I understand.)

Did you watch the "Private Moment" clip, with the Italian?? GOD - catnip from beginning to end. :loveya: :loveya: :loveya:

Oh, yeah, that'll kill his aspirations. :sarcasm:

That clip is going into the vault. mmmmmm....

6. That was the one
jarring and weird moment. What the hell was that about? The rest of it seemed pretty lighthearted and un-shocking. Pretty much what you'd expect from a bunch of people in a 24/7 pressure cooker. Silly pranks and a lot of cursing. Eh.

I loved Seti's comment about "got wood?" "That was weird..."

11. Is this all they have?
It looked pretty entertaining to me except for the guy trying to over interpret what he was witnessing. I would actually expect nothing less than controlled chaos in a huge campaign like this.

My favorite Kerry line was when he was sitting in the "unisex" locker room and he said "I don't know who exercised last in this locker room but they left a lot of themselves in here." That made me laugh out loud!

Maybe there is more damning stuff in the rest of the movie, but so far it looks like much ado about nothing.

12. Actually maybe the idea that it made Kerry look bad
made people look. But I guess the fact the they've proved people from Massachusetts swear will shock the nation - and it doesn't sound like Kerry did on the tapes.

14. looks like another pathetic attempt
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 05:12 PM by JI7
to try to get people to think Kerry sucks for whatever reason.

the three clips on the bottom didn't load for me. but the original one on top did and if it's supposed to make Kerry look bad it doesn't.

i'm sure many including some on DU will be disappointed.

15. I liked it (except for the comment by the RW guy)
What impressed me was what a fidgety guy Kerry is. It totally explains why he is thin. That type just burns all the calories off. Ok maybe he's not that way all the time--I'm sure the campaign was like being inside a whirlwind. But it made me think of Teresa's comment that he just goes "Bzzzzz....." all the time.

Most of that pre-camera banter was in English. The Italian I think was a response to a request to talk to establish the mic volume, wasn't it?

I agree he came off as really nice, though. Better than the way Newsweek characterized him in that November special issue. That made him look like a petulant, tempermental crank.

18. He really is.
This video makes me regret even more not paying attention to the election until the last few weeks. I missed so fricking much. Kerry is the real deal. This video just makes him more human and more real and more interesting. Everyone's got quirky things they do when they're alone or with there friends. And Kerry sitting in that chair talking to himself and fidgeting is supposed to be bad? yeah, ok...I thought it was cute.

19. no I thought it was cute too!
I thought that scene was really charming--you could see the real man. If they think THAT is going to make him look bad, they're crazy.

I started paying attention, um I think Dec 2003 or so. But without cspan I would have gotten precious little to look at.

I too am looking forward to Alex's film. :)

17. Is that all they got?
Seriously, I was worried about that? Sheesh. I feel like an idiot for being the least bit concerned about this silly little film.
All this says about the Kerry campaign is that some of them swear a lot, and that the Senator is funny, human and a total babe.
WTF was I worried about? I should know better.
Bad GV.
The Italian part alone will get him more female support.
I'm going to watch it again.
