In fact, this paragraph seems to me to be anti-Dem.

Kerry supporter Diddy, who still had a “P” in his name back then, even flew around the country threatening people with death if they didn’t vote. (Remember “Vote or Die”?) The film doesn’t show how Kerry felt about that, or about the support iof other important cultural icons like Kirsten Dunst, Ashlee Simpson and Uma Thurman.

I did not really give attention to these issues because I was more interested in the politics of the campaign.

6. Seems more tongue in cheek than anything else

No one seriously refers to Ben Affect as Kerry's chief adviser. If anything they're paralleling the film in giving undue importance to minor characters (celebrities active in the campaign instead of second and third tier staffers.) Neither says much about Kerry.

I think it's just tongue-in-cheek, and probably most people are more interested in the unanswered gossippy tid-bits than the politics of it all.

9. It's a parody. They are talking as if they were the film

You know, what if the KErry/Edwards campaign were reported as though they were missing white women in Aruba? It would be the all gossip all the time channel.

This is parody. No issues were raised or dealt with at all. The film is a slas-and-burn thingee that deals with how particular people messed up or were caught in the act of being stressed during a campaign. No discussion of issues, just dumb shit about personalities.

Kind of funny.
