Anybody listen to Ed Shultz today??
Asshole! Major ASSHOLE!

He dissed Kerry several times today.
Some caller was saying how she'd like Kerry to run again.
Ed said - Nuh uh - No way! I'm not going thru that again.
I'm not going thru the swifties being unanswered and the 87 billion.
No way.

Later someone called about Gore. Ed said - No Gore. No Kerry. Let's move on people.

Ed was the first liberal talk show host I ever heard. He was on in Phx before AAR got here. When I would listen to him, I thought I died and went to heaven.

Lately, he has been sounding more 'republican lite' and now he goes and puts down Kerry. I take it personal when someone talks negatively about Kerry.:spank: Bye Ed.

1. Ed Schultz is a major Hillary supporter
I usually catch some of his show on the drive home from work. I'm pissed that he would diss Kerry like that. It's probably why Kerry has never been on his show, while Kennedy has been on several times.

5. And how the hell is wanting Hillary for president "moving on"?!
Can we elect somebody in this country who is neither a Bush nor a Clinton, for heaven's sake.

Not to mention that he is going to have to "go through that again" with Hillary. She will be smeared like there is no tomorrow. And I swear she doesn't have the chops Bill did for handling herself in those situations. Bill is a consumate politician. She is not. I don't see the attraction frankly.

And I just don't understand the concept of "moving on". It seems ludicrous to me to say "one and done" "he had his chance" or even "it's somebody else's turn". Both Gore and Kerry have experience now in running a national campaign. Both likely know what they did wrong.

And so continues the search for the unknown magic candidate who will sweep us to victory. Oh sure, let's reinvent the wheel.

Also, I do believe that a good part of our problem is the Democratic Party itself. We're in such disarray. We don't know which special interest group to listen to. Should we be populist? Should we worry about abortion and gay rights? Luckily, it looks like the Republicans will soon be asking the same questions.

But it also bugs me to see Kerry all over the place campaigning for other Dems and getting no kudos for it. "He's running for 2008!" Yeah, he could sneeze and they'd call it campaigning for 2008.

On the plus side, Big Eddie-wise, I've heard him mention what Kerry said during the campaign when talking to freepers. So at least he was listening.

Nevertheless, I think he's a nut for supporting Hillary. But then folks think I'm nuts for supporting Kerry. Whatcha gonna do.

I hope Kerry convinces folks between now and 2008 that he deserves another chance. But if I can't have him be president, I'm still hoping that he'll have a place in somebody's cabinet. He has too many skills to go to waste.

2. Ed Schultz's show is a show from ND, so I am not too surprised to
see him not be that liberal. I like the way he speaks, but I disagree quite often with him.

3. He is going to start to be broadcasted to our troops overseas
So I will give him credit for that.
He is not afraid to speak up for what he believes.

If you don't have anything nice to say about Kerry, than don't say anything at all. Ha - do I sound like a mom or what?

Except for his love of Hillary, I like him a lot even if I disagree with him on a lot of things.

6. I don't like Ed.
I listen to him every day, and most of what he has to say is, IMO, pretty stupid. Fishing, football, bla...bla...bla...
And much of the time, he's just wrong.
Sorry, if any of you like him, that's your business, but to me, he's just a left wing blowhard.

Here's my e-mail to Big Eddie. Despite paying Sirius for the year in advance, I'm switching to XM. I missed Morning Sedition and Randi anyway.

Ed-
I listen to your show every day on the way home from work, but enough is enough. A listener calls you expressing her support of Sen Kerry and you trash him. Another calls with support for Al Gore and he's trashed as well.
You don't toss a good Dem aside just because WE can't manage to get him in the WH. If you think Sen Kerry lost '04 on his own, you're seriously deluded. Who had his back when he told us he had ours, Ed? The media lost it for us in '04. The media, election fraud, the bogus terror alerts, the Swift Boat Liars, the Dem leadership that didn't support our candidate, and this lying, cheating administration lost '04 for us. Kerry's campaign wasn't perfect, but it was damn good. And I'll vote for him again in '08 if he gets the nomination, Eddie. And when he wins, you'll be my first phone call.
Hey, aren't you part of the media? Trashing Dems does not make for good liberal radio, Ed. IMO, you're part of the problem.
I'm finished. Sirius out, XM and AAR in.
On the bright side, that means no more stupid fishing stories.

8. I did, and thank you.
You rock, too.
I am in Kerry defense mode today. No one can speak ill of the Senator in my presence. Some days I can let it go, but not today for some reason.
If you feel like joining me, see above thread titled "Help!"

10. Who manages Kerry in the media?
That is who I am going to start bugging! Seriously bugging. As in becomming a major pest.

Kerry is awesome, and no one is listening. Maybe it's time to get his message out. Especially if he is running in 2008. People need to see what he is doing. People need to hear from him. We hear it. We read every speech, every article. But only because we all have Kerry alerts!

I seriously want to email his media person everyday and ask them
"why wasn't this in the news?" We have Kerry's back more than the people that are getting paid by him to have his back! It's bs...especially now with the bushies screwing up more every single day.
What a perfect opportunity to promote Kerry. This is what you have vs this is what you could have had.

11. The issue is not so much why what he does was not in the news
because nothing the dems do is in the news except if it is controversial.

The issue is why is Kerry not more often in shows and interviews explaining what he does and what his views are. And I still dont understand if it is what he wants (talking to people basically face to face as can be done in these meetings he goes to) or if he has trouble being invited in the media.

I certainly hope he does more TV interviews soon, even if I think he should not overdo it, because I can already see I have Hillary fatigue and Biden fatigue.

12. if it's his own decision
i think it's because the interviewers spend most of the time discussing non issues like "will you run again" or playing gotcha games like Tim Russert does.

he usually calls them out on it and makes them look like fools as he did with Judy Woodruff so they probably don't invite him either.most who watch this stuff tend to be political partisans anyways.

i do notice he seems to give a lot of interviews to smaller media which do seem to focus more on the issues.

i'm very sure he prefers speaking to people directly and doing town hall type stuff.

13. IMO, he is not doing these shows and it's his call.
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 10:58 PM by TayTay
When * did his June speech/photo op in front of the troops, Kerry was the first guest on Larry King doing a quick analysis of the speech. He got top billing, above McCain. If he wants to go on TV, they will salivate to get him.

I think this is planned. I think Kerry is still keeping a low profile. I suspect it has something to do with the current climate in DC and the cloud the Bushies are under and I suspect it has to do with Iraq. I think when the pseech on IRaq comes out, it will be very , very public. Then Kery goes back on the Talking Heads shows.
