Suggestion
It might be worthwhile to set up an email list of K Forum members who are willing to participate. The list could be used to discuss anything that we might not want discussed on this forum.

There are times when I don't feel comfortable posting info I have because it is accessable to all eyes on DU and search engines.

I don't have time to set it up myself, but perhaps someone else here does.

During the primaries we had an email list of bloggers that came in very handy.

1. I also don't know how to do this.
But would be willing to help in any way I can. This is a good idea.

I in no way wish to put work on someone without their consent, but perhaps we could ask Fire for some advice on how to do this. (If she is willing.) She had expertise in the area. (Again, I don't know her schedule and I don't wish to impose burdens on anyone.)

13. It's not a problem....
I see that Kerry2008 has already volunteered to form an e-mail list. I just wanted everyone to know that if we need a web forum at some future date to discuss stuff that can't be discussed on DU, I have one already set up that has, in past months, been used for that exact purpose. I have my own domains and paid hosting, so the board and website won't just vanish into ether or radically change their addresses. At present the URL is not public, because my membership system is wide open. I don't really want to post the URL on this board, because I'd prefer not to have to deal with trolls or prying freeper eyes. If the group wants to use my board in addition to the e-mail list, just PM me for the address.

I have a mailing list of my own. I can get one set up for you. It's quite simple actually. Let me know...

3. That would be great!
I have been thinking sort of along kg's lines also but didn't want to suggest it since I don't have time to manage it these days.

6. Good deal!
Thanks. My suggestion would be for everyone to PM you if you are game to do this and send their email addresses. Once the list is set up everyone should be sent an intial email so that they can save the email addresses as a list. Lists are easy to set up in any email program.

Then we have a way to contact each other off forum if need arises. There is stuff we don't post on Dem Daily, too, it gets passed along via email. Some things are best not seen by prying eyes.

12. Question.
I just got done reading Skinner's post.
Ok - I can respect that.
But since we are Kerry's personal fan club, it is going to be tuff.
Lot's of times I visit DU just to check in here, and only here.
If there is a Kerry thread in GD or GDP, I still wanna know.
Maybe I'll need to start checking in GD or GDP first. Maybe we will all need to do that?

14. I assume this only pertains to DU
I definitely want to know if Kos is ripping a new one on Kerry, since that site is more famous. I'm staying out of this new DU controversy, since I only visit DU for this forum, and to read the front page.

Maybe the positive side to this all, is our posts will be more positive, since people no longer are allowed to point out Kerry flame wars on DU?

15. My understanding is that they can post all they want about Kerry
We can't reference it here.

I never have really gotten into Kos.
Do you go there often? I know they are referenced alot on CNN.
I like DU's format alot better.

17. I don't read any kerry or dem presidential message on kos
They bash everyone except Dean and Hackett.

But I do look for their latest on Plame etc...

Count me in on that email thing please.

Is it still ok to come here and ask for people to kick or nom a thread in GD?

It is okay to showcase a thread that is informative and should have our notice because it is full of info. (And we still have Pm.)

22. I don't think it was meant that we shouldn't respond to other
negative posts on Kerry. I took it to mean we couldn't alert others to a particular post from our group forum. We can still defend Kerry on the other boards.

23. Absolutely
You can inform me of a particularly interesting post on any other forum on DU. Skinner asked us to refrain from, en masse, going in and responding to posts, after someone requests us to do so in this forum. Finding it on our own is perfectly okay.

I'm glad we have so much interest. Personally, I'm one who checks my email constantly, so if there is something important to know, that's the fatest way for me to find out.

29. Can also use Kerry Reference Library
Another spot we can post things which we don't want to post on DU is at the Kerry Reference Library:

http://kerrylibrary.invisionzone.com/

There is a discussion section set up, and I can set up new categories if needed.

It would also be possible to set up a section with restricted membership if needed

I didn't want to offer for you...

A restricted membership forum on the Kerry Ref. Library would also work. It's only accessible and viewable to members. No search engine access.

I hope there's room for one that lurks here more than posts.

I'm not real into the estrogen-palooza fests but I like to keep track of the Senator.

I also object to the knee-jerk K bashing and piling on that goes on. It's too early for '08 for one thing. In addition, most of the rants are emotional and ill-informed or uninformed.
